  1. I wouldn't say we are ALL coming around to the idea of adding CastellaNO
  2. Nope, not buying this for a second. We could likely bring back Calhoun for less if we wanted, but we have zero need for an outfielder.
  3. I would trade Marsh + in a heartbeat for Rutschman.
  4. I'm on the owner's side. Let's reduce these salaries to a reasonable level so ticket prices can go back to where it doesn't cost $300 to take the wife to a game.
  5. I can see Cole/Boras thinking this may be a possibility. I can't see Strasburg getting anywhere close to this.
  6. If Cole/Boras think 8/288 is a realistic goal then he won't sign until very late, by which time we will likely have moved on. We are too close to contention and our needs are too great to wait until the last moment hoping to overpay for one player. If we can get Strasburg and Wheeler for the same price as Cole, let's get it done.
  7. I think this is a reasonably safe assumption. Anyone can go through what he did this year and it has little to do with his age. I feel confident that he will come back strong next year.
  8. Makes sense when you think about it. I just read an article the other day in the AMA Journal that clearly demonstrated getting injured is the leading cause of injuries.
  9. If I understand things correctly, it's widely accepted that Stassi is an elite level defensive catcher who cannot swing a bat as well as grandma swings her rolling pin. For Stassi, Eppler gave up two rookie league scrubs who are unlikely to sniff the majors without the direct intervention of Santa Claus. I'd say that is a step (albeit a small step) in the right direction. Good job Eppler. What is the big deal here?
  10. Odorizzi had a very good season in '19, but over the length of his career he has been little better than average. I strongly suspect that he will be overpaid. Not really interested unless we can get him for less than 45/3. Wheeler, as has been mentioned, would be like getting a healthy Garrett Richards that can consistently give us six innings. Sign me up for this guy.
  11. This is the thing here. Prior to this campaign I had never heard of her. Now I know who she is and I like her a lot. This woman has a big future.
  12. The Nats are a good team riding a hot streak. The Astros are a great team doing what great teams do. Stros in 6
  13. Carl Yastrzemski's grandson Mike had a .852 OPS with the Giants this past year.
  14. It isn't difficult for technology to accurately make these measurements; nevertheless, I like your idea.
  15. I see this as an argument for the robot. A strike is a strike as defined by the rule book, not the umpire's perception. Remove the subjectivity, let the hitters adjust, and the game is far better off.
  16. This is your "pitch" for Wheeler. Nice I'm certain everyone here will be thrilled if we can bring in Cole and Wheeler.
  17. If Marsh is truly the best defensive outfield prospect, then why not put Adell at first instead?
  18. I wouldn't say no to this trade. I would say HELL NO. We need hitters, so lets trade one of our best for a crappy reliever making 32M a year? Jeebers.
  19. After getting yelled at by Lou it became a matter of stubbornness.
  20. No doubt money is the primary motivator, but these guys are professional athletes who burn with a competitive fire. They want to win. Bringing in Madden will definitely add to he Angels becoming an attractive destination. Lot's of good things happening here and players see that.
