WeaverFever reacted to totdprods in Marlins Hope To Trade Stanton, Gordon, Prado
It's a risk but with those bats in house I'd be happy rolling the dice.
There are still some cheap rebound arms we could fill out the depth too.

WeaverFever reacted to totdprods in Angels roster could change a lot before 2018
Yes, you're right - I blitzed through and forgot Parker. I do hope they re-sign Petit as well - I even hope they re-sign Norris. But I could see both of those guys asking for a significant raise and Eppler deciding to move on and take the bargain he already received on them.
I'm fine throwing big money at the offense and leaving pitching as is, but it does make me a little nervous still. It puts a lot of faith on a staff that's been burning us for two seasons now. Not totally against it, but they better feel real good about those arms and throw a lot of money at the offense if they go that route.

Where's TroutFan?? What excuse does he have for Mike going 0-4 today? Christ that's the only excitement we have when this team absolutely disappeared during the worst time possibe.

WeaverFever reacted to Glen in Bud Norris starts today
Trout might actually finish the season batting under .300.

I never thought I'd ever say this. But it's just meh, they are boring. Yes they hugely overachieved this year. But they were mightly exciting up until about two weeks ago... now our offence is non existent

Correct, that's why people think so highly of Mike Trout. He needs to carry the Angels. Big time players come with big time responsibility.

WeaverFever reacted to Erstad Grit in Gameday: 9/20 Indians @ Angels
Dude you are digging to make excuses and it's annoying. Trout has $hit the bed. That doesn't mean we don't love him and want him to be a halo forever. Just acknowledge what isn't debatable.

Great in regular season is different than clutch time. Greatest players are always remembered for what they do in the clutch. Ask Dan Marino

WeaverFever reacted to Erstad Grit in Gameday: 9/20 Indians @ Angels
Yeah.......it's like we're expecting him to be our most valuable player when it matters the most

But they are not winning so when superstars don't step up they get the blame.
-
WeaverFever reacted to JustATroutFan in Gameday: 9/20 Indians @ Angels
And if the Angels had been winning in spite of Trout's "struggles" this month, no one would be talking about Trout's off month.

WeaverFever reacted to Angel97 in Gameday: 9/20 Indians @ Angels
The only time Angels made the playoffs when Trout was on the team I think he was hitless then too.

WeaverFever reacted to HeavenlyHalos in Gameday: 9/20 Indians @ Angels
Lol, I doubt he's tired. He just isn't very good right now.

We're still in this game.
Win tonight, and it's a whole different outlook. Not over yet.

or even an Adam Kennedy memory would be nice. Someone posted Vlad's Sep 2004 stats in one of the threads and that is what I'm looking for, MVP type production when it matters most.
Still love Trout, don't get me wrong but phack!

I love this post... it's all about the memories. And I think we all want Mike to be our saviour. We'd rather have him be Mr. October than Mr. April. I want Mike Trout to be looked at in the same way as Madison Baum, David Ortiz, Kirby Puckett, and Reggie Jackson are to their respective franchises.

WeaverFever reacted to fan_since79 in Next 12 Games = Season (4-8)
With Nolasco going tonight, a win would be the top story on ESPN.

WeaverFever reacted to T.G. in Unpopular Trout Opinion
Mike Trout can't do it alone and the Angels can't do it without him.
I don't want to look back on his career years from now and talk about his statistical prowess. I want to look back and talk about his heroics in the stretch to get into the post season and his performance in the post season. I want actual memories and not a page of impressive sabermetic based stats.
He's human. We all understand that. Even still - we expect great things. He's a once-in-a-generation player. This is the time he has to shine, step up and do what needs to be done. We are right to expect this - everything he's done to this point, allows us to have those expectations. I won't apologize for it.

Trout's trade value is circling the drain.

Those Moments are important, Mike.

WeaverFever reacted to Ochocinco! in Gameday: 9/19 Indians @ Angels
Trout has absolutely sucked in September... i get he's still been above average as far as getting on base but for a guy that's " the best player in the game " he's letting us down big time

WeaverFever reacted to IIIII in Gameday Thread 9/16: Trout hits Leadoff, no Phillips
This game alone justified the Upton trade. He's been fantastic for us.

WeaverFever got a reaction from ten ocho recon scout in What was your favorite Angels transaction day?
Some very good choices to choice from. Jered Weaver is my favourite player of all time. Also loved Vlad, and Torrii. All for very good reasons. But I remember coming home from school for lunch, to go on the computer to see Albert, and CJ signed. The excitement my late dad and I had were insurmountable. It was one of the best days of my life, and one day I will remember forever. Even tho it didn't turn out to be what we had hoped.
