And don't forget that he used PEDS and it is likely that he used it in 2015, the year when he won the batting title. Had a .333/.359./.418 slash line that year. Living off of one season.

Would you want the Angels to sign Arrieta to a big deal if the opportunity is there? I think it is worth the risk. Arrieta was great from 2014-2016 and was pretty good this year overall but if you look closer at his numbers, he pitched like an ace starting in July. Starting in July, he had a 2.26 ERA in 79.2 innings pitched. Not a big sample size but he has pitched like an ace for most of the time for the past 4 years and I think it is worth the gamble to try to sign him to a big deal. He would have the benefit of pitching in a very good home park to pitch in that is Angels Stadium and a great defense behind him.

I am petrified of Dee Gordon the same exact way I was petrified of Carl Crawford.
When so much of your offensive value comes from pure speed, you are playing with fire when these guys are about to be on the wrong side of 30.
Gordon already is nothing to be too excited about in OB%.
Unless taking that contract helps land a better player from Miami in a package, I want no part of this guy.

And yet, Sosh will still bat Pujols behind Trout and ahead of Upton for next year and beyond, as long as Pujols is still on the team.

I think he's totally right on here. Here's the concluding paragraph:
Some teams just don’t have the talent to be competitive. The Tigers, for example, don’t have the talent to be competitive, not in 2018. The Angels? The Angels have the talent, if more for a wild-card berth than for taking their own division. You can look at this roster and squint, and you can see 85 or even 90 wins. Look at the picture differently, though, and you might see another season derailed by trips to the disabled list. In that event, you could say the Angels should’ve seen it all coming. Whether that’s actually true, well, I haven’t the foggiest. Neither do they. You can never be sure of the odds.
Here's the thing about the 2018 Angels, which Sullivan pretty much said but I'll say it differently: In a way it doesn't matter who they get to play 1B, 2B, and 3B; if their starters aren't healthy, they won't compete. And if their starters are healthy they might already be good enough to compete for a wildcard - and that's without Hosmer, Moustakas, Martinez, etc.
So my takeaway is this: Don't spend big at 1B/3B/3B. Maybe a Carlos Santana and Adrusbal Cabrera. But don't go all in with a lineup, because at this point, everything hinges on the starting rotation. They need it to be healthy.
All of this makes me veer back to the idea of needing to sign at least one #3 or better starter. I know Eppler said he's happy with the pitching options, but I don't really believe him.
    So my updated wishlist:
*A couple quality regulars for the infield, filling the third spot from within (Valbuena, Cron, Cowart)
    *A #3 or better starter
*A tweak or two here or there
That said, I still love the Cesar Hernandez idea, but he won't come cheap.

    I am just.

I am just so goddamn happy the doyers did not win.
Like, I know a lot of you guys are from SoCal, but from those of you that aren't: Dodger fans are like the butthole of baseball fans. They're like Raider fans. I said this when the series started: doyer fans are already unbearable. And if they won this series, I can't even imagine how horrible they would be. This is why I am absolutely relieved they lost.
Don't get me wrong, I sport Halo caps all day every day.
But for now, I am going to buy an Astros cap, wear it proudly, and proclaim myself an Angels fan with a 'Stros cap. And if any doyer bum has anything to say, the Halos still have the World Series 2002 while the doyers are still waiting. I'm so happy to just have that for now.
And I look forward to the Halos kicking it in high gear with Trout, and Angel red will always be my home team.
