When you leave the clubhouse for the last time, don't forget to take all that baggage with you.

Alex Rodriguez is serving as the designated hitter and batting third in his final game as a Yankee on Friday vs. Chris Archer & the Rays.
Joe Girardi won't let him play 3B.

John Stellman reacted to howie in Embrace the losing
It's officially time to get excited for what all this losing does for us. If I'm correct, there are only 5 teams with worse records than the Angels and we're only 3 games out of having the second worse record in the majors. That would give us the 2nd pick in the draft.
As far as I'm concerned, not getting a top 10 pick next year would be utter failure for this team. There's a real possibility of getting a top 5 pick, with an outside chance of top 3.
In this day and age, young, cost-controlled players is what it's all about. Not only would we get a higher pick in the first round, but every round thereafter. That can make a real difference.
From what I've been reading, the 2017 draft appears to be better than 2016, and it's possible to pick up a stud college pitcher in the top 3 picks that may be ready in 2018. Couple that with top 10 picks being protected and it gives lots of flexibility if Eppler decides to go after a free agent.
All is not lost friends- Just this season. So let's keep losing a lot and embrace the losing.

I like the road uni with perhaps navy sleeves and socks. They had a similar font in 1956 with script Angels and a Navy blue cap with the logo on my avitar.
Maybe if they re-tool the team for 2018 a new look might be a positive.

John Stellman reacted to Angelsjunky in Happy Birthday to Mike Trout - And a note on his greatness
Mike Trout turned 25 today and is currently on pace to lead the AL, once again, in WAR - both Fangraphs and B-R versions. In both cases it would be his fifth year in a row. Let's put that in context. Mike Trout has led the AL in WAR in each of his first five seasons; that means that if the MVP was determined by WAR, he would be on route to his fifth award.
Here's another thing. How many players have led their league in WAR five times? While I prefer Fangraphs WAR, it is too tedious to look it up for each year so I'm going to rely upon Baseball Reference. Here are the players who have led their league in WAR at least three times, going back to the beginning of the two leagues in 1901 (but including Cy Young, who led his league before and after that threshold):
10 - Ruth
9 - Mays
8 - W Johnson
7 - Hornsby
6 - Bonds, Williams, Young
5 - Mantle, A Rodriguez, Trout (pending)
4 - Alexander, Clemens, Musial, Pujols, Trout (through 2015), Wagner
3 - Foxx, Gibson, Maddux, Mathewson, Ripken, Yastrzemski
Look at the company he's in. He's just a couple months from becoming the 10th player in major league history who has led their league in rWAR five times or more - and in his fifth full season!
Now he's not going to keep this up forever, but let's say he leads the AL just twice more: he leap-frogs Barry Bonds, Ted Williams, and Cy Young and becomes one of just five players to lead their league 7 or more times.
Unreal.

I would like to be able to trade draft picks, not sure if that's realistic or not though.
What else do want or think will be part of the new agreement after the next agreement?

Minoring in Twitter: Yankees prospect Frazier is really excited about New York
By Danny Wild / MiLB.com
Clint Frazier — a first-round pick known for his flowing red hair — was traded at the deadline last week from the Indians to the Yankees as part of a deal that sent Andrew Miller to Cleveland.
For Clint, that news meant two things:
