I really wish we did an actual rebuild which Arte refuses to do.  We are now seeing teams like the Twins, Rays, A's, Padres, Braves and White Sox reaping the rewards for going this route.

I like the trade, but I'd be absolutely blown away if that happens. Obviously hoping it does. La Stella put up a 122 OPS+ in his 2 years in Anaheim, that's a lot to ask out of Barreto. I'd settle for a 95 OPS+ with great defense out of him

I think you guys have to stop including Shohei Ohtani in the potential pitching depth chart for the next 3 years.  As depressing as that is to say

The one month of control is WHAT THE ANGELS HAD......  
It's a GREAT move for the A's... but it doesn't change what his value was to the Angels -- that's the only team I'm concerned about in this..

Strikes out a ton, hits for power but not average. That's a skillset that we already haven't had much success with, plus another middle infielder? On the other hand he was a good prospect. 
Not to mention any trade or signing right now that doesn't bring back pitching is going to be criticized unless it's a slam dunk like Rendon. Meh

While I would like to support the movement, it's hard for me to do so given how shamelessly opportunistic it's become. Between the rioting and looting, corporate virtue signaling, and the complete lack of response (or even defiant response) after Desean Jackson's anti-Semitic comments it's just devolved into the same corporatism and lazy selfishness that permeates most of the rest of American society.
So yes, given where things stand nowadays it actually would be nice to get a break from being beaten over the head with political pandering, especially since there won't be any meaningful change enacted anyway given the opportunism on both sides. Athletes will use the movement to gain leverage with owners, corporations will use it to gain leverage with their customers, the right and left will use it as leverage with their voter base with no intention of fixing anything. It all seems to be a symptom of a more broadly declining society populated by people unwilling to improve themselves, their careers, their fitness, their relationships, etc.
