Well this one had a little bit of everything. Great performance from Canning, Trout opposite field shot, a hold from Moore, and a nice 9th inning shutdown from Jacob Webb.

Brownie points to anyone who predicted this time last year that Zach Neto (still a small college nobody) would be the starting shortstop, Logan O'Hoppe (also not an Angel yet) and Matt Thaiss would be the starting catchers, and would be doing quite well (at least until O'Hoppe got hurt), Chase Silseth would be the answer to the bullpen woes and Mickey Moniak (another non-Angel a year ago) would displace Taylor Ward (at least in the short term) as the starting left fielder. Now we have folks clamoring for Jo Adell's return to the starting lineup, seeing as he leads AAA in homeruns and is hitting 70 points higher this year than last.
This is what it's like to have a functional minor league system and the depth it provides. Value doesn't always have to be the top 100 prospect like Neto and O'Hoppe. Sometimes, it's the post hype sleeper. In fact I'd say that's often the case, including guys like Walsh, Ward, Rengifo, Barria and Thaiss.

I get the reasoning.
rotation needs help and Barria has been successful this year maybe it will carry over into 5-6 inning starts. Silseth at the back end of the bullpen solves a lot of current issues, as long as he’s effective.
A Silseth-Moore-Estevez backend of the bullpen has the potential to be good to very good.
