  1. I'd do that. Padres wouldn't though they don't get much of a return for Justin. I think they want a top prospect in return for him which I totally understand. Although, I do think shoe would do great in Petco. BJ could be the 4th outfielder/pinch runner.
  2. I don't see trout leaving Anaheim unless we really piss him off. I think he knows he can build a legacy here, I see him wanting to be like Jeter and spend his entire career with one team.
  3. How is this a reasonable safety accommodation? One person feels at risk so the millions of baseball fans have to pay the price. One ass hole has to ruin it for everybody?
  4. He was doing good in the rotation before he went down with TJ. Looked like a stud, hard throwing lefties don't grow on trees.
  5. Curious why they would trade those two? I'm sorry but as good as a prospect that Newcomb is, His control is still very shaky. You don't trade proven major league cost controlled lefties and just assume a top prospect will work out. Santiago i can see because his salary will start raising quickly. Can't see Skaggs traded. I think they build the rotation around Richards, Heaney, Skaggs, and around 2017 Newcomb will be ready. A lot can happen
  6. This goes totally against Dipoto's plan to trade the pitching depth for cost controlled young bats.
  7. Seriously?? 3 major league caliber pitchers for a low avg. high power, high strikeouts, good defense. All in a hitters park in the NL. Get out of here, hold onto the pitching and do something I'm the offseason. Why not call down to San Diego and swap a couple prospects for Upton as a rental
  8. Tough crowd. Well I enjoy him and he does have some good Baseball stories
  9. Hey I'm just as frustrated as you but it's one game dude. They happen. We didn't lose any ground, it just makes it clear just because the offense has been rolling lately that DOES NOT mean we should pass on trading for a left fielder or DH. This offense just flat out is not good, you can't rely on trout and pujols every night and you can't count any other position player any night. Seriously use some of this damn pitching depth we have.
  10. You guys are ridiculous. All you ever do is complain about every announcer. Smith is great on the radio, he doesn't paint a great picture like vin scully does but he has some interesting stories, insight, etc. especially with Langston. He never leaves you hanging like some radio guys do when you're waiting for a score, how many runners on, etc.. I get the Gubi hate though. He is awful
  11. There are the m's, mets, marlins, rockies, brewers, phillies, padres, diamondbacks. Absolutely no way do we have the worst front office.
  12. Have you seen juiced up Barry's numbers? Harper isn't even on the same planet.
  13. No way we trade for pitching. Even the bullpen depth is great, I'm sure smith could step in as closer but I really don't see street being out too long. If necessary shut him down for the m's series and let him rest during the break. He walked off the field a little gingerly but I think if it was severe he would have needed help. Never hurt a groin before though so what do I know
  14. Same record as the cubbies! Woohoo! Thank god we aren't in the NL Central
  15. It would be cool to get Nelly Cruz to put at DH package up cron and a couple prospects like Nate smith and I think it would be a good deal. Put Trout in the 2 hole, Pujols 3rd, Cruz 4th, followed by Freese and Aybar. Calhoun could go back to lead off and that would make not having a speedy guy with OBP for left field not as much of an issue. Do a platoon of Joyce and Navarro in left and I feel a little more confident in the run producing ability and the depth. Idk just throwing around ideas on an off day
  16. Was checking out halos heaven for the first time after you posted that link. Good god is that a horrible website. Somebody actually said that we should have offered Newcomb for Ben Revere because we don't have any other starting pitching prospects that any team would want. LOL
  17. He's a rule 5 pick. He would be in AA if the Angels could send him there but if they did that the Cubs could take him back. All they wanted out of him was to get some big league experience and be good defensively. I think has done that. And why choose now to complain about him? After the Angels destroy Texas for 3 straight games
  18. Conger was adequate defensively but a great pitch framer. That must have been what he meant.
  19. This season is funny. I literally have lol'ed at this team too many times to count this year.
  20. Keep it in house and go with either Klentak or Servais. If we hire an outside guy we have to go through that whole transition of minor leagues and everything. Keep what Dipoto had planned in place, get rid of scioscia in the offseason and it will be not too bad of a transition.
  21. No way the Angels would bring a guy with his character in. Too bad, those numbers would look great in left and would leave us with a great offensive and defensive outfield. What would the Dodgers want for him anyways? Oh well no sense talking about it no way that Stoneman pulls off a deal like this
  22. Yeah obviously he was hoping for the 3 run homer im pretty sure we all that that false hope that it would happen but in the back of our minds he was really going to K on a flailing swing.
  23. Yeah I agree with you, doc. I spend a ridiculous amount of time, energy, and money. All for what? To end up disappointed like this franchise does to you over and over again. This last move is stupid, if almost feels like when your girlfriend breaks up with you, you don't want to believe it because things were going so well and you keep hoping that they will come crawling back. I really wish they could have patched this up because bottom line Jerry Dipoto made this a better organization and we took an enormous hit today when he decided to leave. Scioscia needs to go, there is no way around that. And why wouldn't Scott servais or klentak get promoted? They were the ones closest to Dipoto and probably knew more about what direction Dipoto wanted to take us than anybody else in the organization. I can't stand the decisions this franchise makes, they are illogical and outdated. I have to disconnect from this franchise
  24. Of course he plays in coors so his numbers are skewed and he's also 29. Just looking for players that might help
