I wonder if this is just a one-year stopgap until they either remove a row or three (thus creating an actual space between the wall and seating) or simply move the fencing up a couple feet, again, creating an actual separation.

Wouldn't surprise me if some major renovations are in the works for the next year or two as the ballpark lease comes to a conclusion. Maybe a restaurant replacing the rocks, or something in CF, or even a major right-field renovation with a field level facing bar/restaurant and seating remaining on top.

Do you think Billy can get St. Louis to take the remaining 4 years of Albert's contract off our hands? If we eat about $70MM, I think it could be beneficial for both clubs. We save about $45MM, it clears a roster spot and unburdens the Franchise of any dead contract weight. St Louis gets to see his remaining milestones, he plays a healthy 1st for them and wont cost them much financially. It's a happy ending to a situation that should have never happened. Worst case, Albert doesn't wanna tarnish the career stat line, gives up $30MM and hangs em' up.

We should trade for some of Milwaukee's arms. Knebel, Nelson and Hader are all nasty or maybe talk to Pittsburgh and see what they want for Rivero. Get either a filthy lefty or a closer to solidify the pen. We don't need to lose games unnecessarily because we didn't hunker down the bullpen. You could always add more starting pitching as well, plus It would just give us more arms to trade for other needs.

I couldn't have said it better myself. Trout has been here from the beginning and he deserves to be overly compensated in those final years. Paying him isn't going to be an issue. If he ever does leave, it won't be due to money, it'll be for personal reasons. It's the front offices job to show him that we've learned our lessons over the last decade and are here to compete year in and year out. Just in the last few years, this organization has learned a lot about itself as a business and as a home for employees, players and fans. It's incredibly difficult to express how much the philosophy here has truly changed because it's in its infancy. Not every move is going to be a slam dunk but the days of handing out illogical contracts, mishandling players heath wise and making impulsive decisions are over. Paying for a players past, is just that, a thing of the past. Your past production is what gets your foot in the door but it'll no longer get you a cushy pay day till you retire. Yes, player salaries are becoming smaller and smaller compared to the owner's/league's revenue but that going to be for the good in the next few decade's. The league plans to use that disparity in revenue to expand the league farther throughout the world. Now given time to lay the foundation, MLB WILL be played at the highest level, in multiple countries. The blue prints have been discussed at nausea for years and the time for breaking ground is approaching fast. Sorry, Idk why I wen't on that tangent. The Angels are here to stay and that started a few years ago. We need health and pitching to compete. Finally, I won't get into trades because I'll be here all night with all of the possibilities but as far as Free Agents go, let's get Lance Lynn with a 4 year deal and an option for a 5th at an AAV of 15-17MM.

Jeff, you should ask around the organization and see what you can dig up on what the FO's plans are for the pen. Particularly with their pursuits of a FA closer? See if they divulge any info.

I think the team is more focused on getting it's players healthy and on the field, rather than contemplating a playoff push. Don't expect us to be buyers guys but I can certainly foresee a few moves being made from a sellers perspective. If we ever want to be a successful franchise again, the bullpen needs to be revamped.

No, you both are horribly wrong.. We've already been socialist for as long as I can remember. America is Socialist, hidden under the ruse of a Capitalist/modern white Caste system. Sure If you use the worst case scenario for your example, like a dictatorship, then sure its terrible. Third world countries are poor for a reason and its not because their ideas are bad, it's their leadership is corrupt. Socialism brought you everything you don't do yourself. The law, the IRS, the court systems. state construction, Medicare, the VA, School system, the Prison system, the EPA, Postal system,PBS, Fire and Police departments, the Military, CIA, FBI, CDC, vaccines, WIC, Fema, Amtrak, metro Buses, OSHA, any Public or state run parks/dams/museums/beaches etc, the roads you drive on and the list goes on and on and on. The most intriguing ones are business subsidies and business welfare are provided from our taxes. If you vote for Anyone other than Bernie Sanders, you are woefully ignorant to reality and don't think things through or just plain wealthy enough to be that ignorant and don't care about anyone else but yourself. He might not be the most charismatic person but he certainly won't lie to your face and laugh about it to their rich friends when the door hits your ass on the way out. PS, this election was fraudulent and stolen right out from under those people that should have been fighting a lot harder and longer then we were for this.

Good thing we didn't sign Maeda or Zimmermann. Our pitching was this teams biggest need and although arm injuries to this degree weren't foreseen, this is what we get for not addressing it at all. We should go to San Diego and see if we can trade for shields and/or Cashner somehow.

I couldn't even type anything yesterday. I was in shock and still am frankly. Fowler fit the teams needs from day one and we knew the general ballpark for a contract. We dropped the ball on this one big time and we now know we're shooting for a big draft. It's going to be pretty easy, If we draft like a bunch of a**holes, then we're dumbbbbb and are clearly wasting a once in a generation window. This is an obvious BUSINESS to Arte and this isn't seen as a treasure but a property. He's pretty much been winning his entire life, so who the f*** cares about just another parade. In 3-7 years this will hopefully be all mute because we had a great draft and took advantage of our guaranteed Trout years.

DailyHalo got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Keith Law: "by far the worst (farm) system I've ever seen"
The FO has gone through way to many philosophy changes in recent years to have a quality farm system. Our top prospects were good enough to land us Simmons, so they had some value but they could also be all hype. I mean how many "perfectly" built players never reach their potential? I'd trade a potential front end arm for a current TOP of the League SS, every day of the week. From what i can see, This franchise doesn't have a track record of making many losing trades. Only in this last decade has this team lost it's identity. Contrary to popular belief, this is not the Titanic. I think we just were lost at sea for awhile, if anything. Hopefully we've set up a solid foundation for the future and we can start showing some consistency throughout the entire organization. On a side note, is Dexter Fowler at 3yrs and $10MM per, with an opt-out, a worthy proposition?

Hey Tdawg, have you watched Fowler play on a daily basis? Other than what you read on paper, what makes you think he is a terrible defender exactly? What does Dexter Fowler NOT do, that this team desperately needs? Please, get into the argument. You have nothing but time on here apparently, so lets us all know EXACTLY why? As for 86, what does signing Fowler have to do with Patience? This team doesn't need a difference maker. We've allocated enough of our resources on "the franchise" type of player for now. We need players that are table setters and know how to play the fundamentals of the game. Its nice to have a player that can carry the team for a month or two but we dont NEED that. I'd rather have someone who shows up more than not and I'm sure If Dexter Fowler didn't have a pick associated with him, then he would already be an Angel. FYI, The dude most likely wont be a center fielder anymore anyways.

I'm glad too see more people eventually voted for Dexter. Various said it perfectly though and It just makes it "easier" now that we don't match up, trade wise. It's not like Fowler is some crap defender either, he might not be the best center fielder in the League but the boy can play and fits our needs like a glove. Andre Ethier is the exact opposite of what this team needs. He just looks good because hes left handed, an out of place OF and is close to home. The only ex-dodger we should be focused on though is Hanley Ramirez. Most people think hes done but personally, I think Boston just doesn't mesh well with everyone. Getting Hanley is risky I know but If it's the money your worried about, don't, that can always be negotiated to a reasonable AAV.

Please.  Andre is trash.  The guy is old, can only hit against RH pitching, sucks defensively and he is expensive.  Fowler is better in the field, a switch-hitter, has speed, gets on base, is younger and he has a bit of pop.  He would be perfect hitting #2 in the line-up in front of Trout.
