  1. Same and that was maybe 15 years ago and I used the pass twice at post. I haven't been in probably 13 years and the only reason I went then is because a friend who worked there got us in for free. Aside from having kids I never really understood the allure of going to DIsneyland but I know some people love it. Greed or not they don't seem to have any problem filling the park up so I don't blame them for raising prices.
  2. No we wouldn't. It's a 162 game season and early in the year I'm sure people were happy we could end it against a team no one expected to be leading the division especially after some of the injuries they had to their staff. If you end up saying Houston makes the post season because they're 14-3 in inter league games you can say the Angels lost it because they're 8-12 in inter league. Still 3 games left with a shot at the playoffs and meaningful games in October. Hoping for the best.

  4. This is something that's been moving up on my list of pet peeves. We have an elevator in our office building and generally people trying to enter before you get off is because they don't anticipate anyone being in there. I know I've done it but obviously I back up and let the people out first. In the last few weeks we had new tenants move in and some of them won't let you out before getting on. The first time it happened I had a Dave Chapelle keeping it real moment.
  5. The main difference is the job they do. They're people just like the rest of us except they're highly skilled and highly paid. Plenty of big wig highly paid executives have been unprofessional assholes (Steve Jobs was an unprofessional asshole depending on who you asked) and likewise plenty of highly paid athletes are viewed as leaders and held to a different standard. Pujols had no problem undermining the GM while essentially calling some of the roster garbage in front of the team yet he's considered a leader. Torii Hunter is a leader yet he stuck his foot in his mouth more than once while in Anaheim which was quite unprofessional. The head coach and GM both made mistakes and both were undermined at different times by the other. The biggest difference is who you side with and the fact that you seem to hold it against the other guy more.
  6. You don't think he was professional because he parted ways with the franchise at a "bad" time even though it's never a good time when things don't work out. It's no more professional in my book for him to stick around as a powerless figurehead just to collect a paycheck. Also if pay scale dictated how people should act we should expect a hell of a lot more out of professional athletes.
  7. Agreed. The franchise thrived during the steroid era.
  8. Talking Dipoto is like talking religion or politics now - whatever side of the aisle you sit on you're not going to change anyone's opinion and they aren't going to change yours. I see nothing that Dipoto said about Hamilton or the Angels that was inflammatory or throwing anyone under the bus. He didn't even bring it up as someone asked him and he still seems to be conducting himself in a professional manner the way he responded. Then again I didn't blame the guy for leaving because I didn't feel he was able to do his job and the situation wasn't working out for either side. Clearly other people don't agree. To each his own.
  9. Because another GM would have brought in...? They wanted depth and they got it. You aren't getting a difference maker at this point in the season you're throwing crap at the wall and hoping something sticks. Kind of like picking up 3 guys at the deadline to fill one spot.
  10. They need a GM for next year not right now. They have an interim GM and there's really no moves to be made right now that require the hiring of a new GM. If they were out of it I could see them adding one now but why take away from what the team is doing? No one besides Dipoto is off the market and they weren't bringing him back. As mentioned other guys they're interested in who are working for teams in contention aren't going to announce they're leaving while their team is in the playoff race.
  11. I'm guessing since his boss made the call he didn't bother arguing one way or another. Why should he keep his mouth shut...because it doesn't agree with what you thought to be true or put the owner/franchise in a positive light? People leave jobs all the time and talk about it. I'm sure his tenure here came up during interviews for the Seattle GM position and if he gets asked about it he can now answer honestly without giving an Angels FO political response.
  12. The guy is no longer here. Why should he take responsibility for something he didn't do or not answer a question when asked? He toe'd the company line when he was here and even shortly after he left but he has no need to do that any more.
  13. Perhaps the run they're making to get into the playoffs. Honest question - what other teams in the hunt have hired a GM?
  14. Clearly yk is against it because using dollar shave club means he wouldn't get to rub elbows with the firemen at Costco.
  15. For sure and while I don't see too many scenarios where he gets my vote I'd almost prefer someone with less pedigree. We have lifelong politicians who are basically bought and paid for and that goes against some of the principles on which this country was founded. I'm not saying you want the asshole who screams the loudest calling the shots but it would be nice if someone who got in there wasn't the same as all the rest. That said I realize it's a pipe dream because to get that far they all do the same things but it would be nice if our elected officials did what's best for the country and not to get re-elected or toe the party line and get the next person from their party elected.
  16. Just like every other politician. They'll say and do whatever they need to in order to get elected, get very little accomplished then go back into campaign mode blasting their critics as to why they didn't get things done while making more false promises.
  17. One of the admins made the avatar and set it a few years ago. No idea who but I appreciate it.
  18. True yet sadly it's more of a plan than Romney ever gave out even though he got the R nod in the 2012 election. I look forward to another 13+ months of watching candidates spend ridiculous amounts of money while trashing one another.
  19. Agree with all points. The extension they signed him to through 2018 guaranteed him 45M but the way it's structured the guaranteed money is only through 2016 and at this point it's all guaranteed since he was on the roster as of March. Their best bet is to start grooming someone else and to part ways with him after 2016. He's a good guy but with KC's defense, running game and Maclin/Kelce they need to take a chance now but it already may be too late because by the time you get someone else in Charles and some of the guys on defense are at the back end of their careers.
  20. The short passes are about all he can do effectively. He's a game manager who won't make too many mistakes but also isn't the guy who's going to air it out and bring his team back from a big deficit. KC's defense basically has to play top 5 and out of their minds the whole season for them to make the playoffs with him as their QB.
  21. Yeah I'm definitely kicking myself now. I wanted Julio and knew he'd be gone by my round 2 pick and had I gone WR first round which I considered he would have been the pick. I had him the last two years in that league and thought he'd have a monster season making sure I grabbed him in my other league where i went WR-WR. Instead right now I'm projected to finish last in a league where last place pays double. I've got both Hillman and Anderson but with how Denver has run the ball and split the snaps I don't want to start either but really need to play at least one of them. I also have M. Bryant in that league and was waiting for him to come back from suspension but until Ben comes back I'm not starting him unless it's a bye week.
