Homebrewer got a reaction from SlappyUtilityMIF in Dodgers sign Brian Wilson
Unlike Madson, Wilson waited until he was ready to come back, before coming back. Guess he didn't feel it would be right to rob some team of millions and then sit on the sidelines until he could pitch again.
    Imagine that.

Hopefully the angels include mike scioscia as a throw in with that deal.

With Kendrick and Aybar clearly and openly on the market, this team is being blown up at the core.
    The Scioscia-ball era is over.
It would be stupid to take a new trip, down a new road, in a whole new direction...with the same beat up old clunker that broke down a few miles from home in past few trips. Trade in the clunker.

I don't care what manager/coaches were in the dugout, it would not have changed the outcome of the season.

Link? I would like to see some solid information that proves this.
Are you trying to tell me that if Scioscia and Butcher, et al, were in the dugout in Oakland, that the A's would still be in fist place?
I haven't seen you post this much OPINION all season. You usually post snide one word snikkers
When Scioscia  becomes the topic you are full of opinions.
Well...show me some proof that this team would be just as bad without Scioscia.
You can't play your own game when Scioscia is the topic, can you?

When talk was that Scioscia was on his way out, ( as it rightly has been the past few seasons,) Francona always came up as a possible replacement. Whoever dared suggest it would be mercilessly flamed.
The guy sure sucks, doesn't he.

Is there anyone that didn't know, when Butcher went out to visit Ernesto in the 9th, that the game would soon be over??
Butcher visits are the kiss of death.
How frikkin long are the Angels going to stay with this guy?
    It is beyond a joke.

trading either or both of these guys for good SP would be Dipoto's best move yet, IMO.  Hope he's able to get it done.

I obviously disagree with you. Regardless, the decision to trade Napoli and have Jeff Mathis be your everyday catcher for a team with championship aspirations was perhaps one of the stupidest decisions in MLB history.

LT..man, you are so absorbed with yourself, you no longer have an opinion. All you have,is some sick need to put other posters, who have an opinion, down.
You think you are brilliant, but you never start a thread.
Your posts are ALL poked at other posters..I have NEVER seen you question this team.
    Not once.

Have absolutely no clue what to do now, or what we were doing in the first place.
It is a long season, we can just go with the flow, turn a few pages, and then we will count the flies in the ointment.
    What was the question again?

Homebrewer got a reaction from Vladdylonglegs in Albert Pujols - statistical update
I couldn't care less what his final numbers for the season turn out to be.
His total failure is the main reason the Angels missed the playoffs last year, and he has contributed nothing this year either.
He was brought in to lead, and even for stretches to carry, this team.
He has done nothing for this team so far, and I see no reason to coddle him with excuses such as "He is pretty good for being hurt"

    That's BS.

They have made more than a couple. They have been building  for 3+ years. Check out the kid Lake they started in CF last night.
The Redsox dumped their albatross contracts, fired a couple of managers, and they are back.
Some orgs recognize their mistakes, bite the bullets to rectify them, and move on.
The Angels are stuck in the same pattern that brought them GMJ and Vernon Wells.
The Cubs will be relevant again before the Angels are.

I think the window to contend with those 4 being the centerpieces of the lineup and staff has already closed. Trout is the piece that will have to lead the Angels to a championship. Trout probably has about 10 years of great play left. That should be our window not the 3 years we have of Weaver and Wilson. I'd like to see this team rebuild right now and be true contenders for 6 years of the 10 with Trout than fake contenders for the next 3 and then stink for 7 years after that.
