It's funny, most people on this board have been upset with Downs this season. Now that he goes to another team everyone feels so happy for him.  The guy is 38 years old. We don't need old players anymore. This has been our problem the last few years.  If you want to build a winner, do it with players under the age of 30 and stop complaining when the team gets rid of a player pushing 40.

The guy has been the best reliever on the team the past 3 years and hasn't showed that he is running out of gas. I wouldn't be surprised if he pitches past 40.

You're making things up. Most people haven't been upset with Downs this year or in his first two years with the Angels. He's done a good job with the Angels. I'm happy for him because he'll finally get to pitch in the playoffs. I hope the Braves win the WS. Nobody is complaining that the Angels traded him. He would've been gone in two months. The Angels might as well save a little money and give Downs the chance to pitch in the playoffs.
