I am calm. And realistic. I've seen this story before. For some odd reason on any given season a team can just own you.
Like we did a few years back, when we played the Boston Red Sox 9 times and won every contest that season.

I have never made it out to spring training, but hope to do so within the next few years (as my son gets old enough to enjoy the experience).  I am truly amazed at what you guys have been able to create with this event.  It honestly wouldn't surprise me if the fanfest that Angelswin.com puts on is one of the most "intimate" types of fanfest events in all of baseball.  You guys should be very proud of what you are doing.  

I hope McDonald makes the team. He's been hitting well and his D is incredible.
More importantly his leadership in the clubhouse is needed and he's very respected Among the players. Tim Mead said he hopes McDonald makes the team for those two reasons.

Then make McDonald the manager and scioscia can be the ball boy.

I think Bruce Bochy is very underrated and Mike Sciocia is very overrated.  I would like to see the same stats for the last 5 yrs.  Me thinks it would be a different story.

I still don't understand why government dollars should be spent on sports teams. We aren't communists. This isn't the USSR or Cuba.

Not sure rest is the answer at this point, since this appears to be a reoccuring problem....he was struggling in spring training after an offseason of rest so I wonder if it wouldn't be better to have the surgery now, get him healthy for 2014, and not have it come up again....give Conger an extended look at DH (it's pretty obvious he can't catch), Trumbo at 1b....

Especially with the season looking the way it does, might as well let pujols take care of his foot and hopefully he's healthy next season.

i know what you're saying, but let's say in 2 years he's just a shell of himself, can't stay healthy, puts up bad numbers when he does play - do you think he's going to want to hang around for 6 more years as a crappy DH/bench guy and tarnish his image?  I actually believe him when he says he'll walk away from the game.  I think he has too much pride.

We'd be crazy to trade Trumbo. The kid could end up hitting 45-50 home runs this year.

Just to qualify myself I am not a Scioscia supporter or detractor - we suck right now and I'd really like it if we would stop sucking

If Scioscia gets fired, it won't be a "knee jerk" decision. The FO will likely have (at least) one or two replacements they would be interested in. This is assuming he doesn't get fired mid-season, which I don't think will happen.
 
As for the whole "experience" thing, that is grossly overstated by some here. The Yankees had no problem hiring Joe Girardi as their replacement for Joe Torre, who had 1 year of managerial experience. What about the Cardinals? Mike Matheny was an advisor in the organization for a while, but had ZERO managerial experience at the big league level. The White Sox? Robin Ventura almost won MOY in his first year as the manager. There are more. The fact is that it doesn't take experience and "qualifications" to automatically succeed at being a manager of a new team.

Scioscia needs to be fired long before any talk of getting rid of Dipoto. The players they have out there should be performing much better but Scioscia and staff have screwed it up.

This team cares. They just suck balls.

If, as many posters believe, the Angels didn't care the game last night doesn't last 19 innings. If the Angels were truly mailing it in they would not have continued to turn double plays and lay down successful sacrifice bunts and found a way to lose that game well before the 19th inning. The Angels have serious issues and I'm not trying to gloss over any of them but it is wrong to say they don't care. 

1- Have never stopped supporting them.
 
2- I'll be much less negative when they stop sucking.

Put Trumbo in LF, call up a catcher, and have Conger DH.
