More teams jump in on Harper bid
halomatt replied to angelsnationtalk's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
Those damn trees were the worst part of the whole story. "I get it.You've been around for eons and watched Middle Earth change." "This is serious shit though. Kick your shit in gear and make a Facking decision, already!" -
Based on the team's willingness to sign him as a position player (due to his desire to try), it would appear that the decision had to be Cowart's, and that he realized that his window of opportunity was closing, and was willing to try the pitching again.
-
I'm cool with it if Cowart shows value in pitching. It the Angels can extract that value and add it to his defensive skills, he becomes a very useful piece of the puzzle. Just wish they would have seen this outcome a couple of years ago while he had time to develop in the minors.

Add Buster Olney to a long list of idiotic baseball writers

I was disappointed in the tweet as well. It didn't seem to support any facts and only served to be controversial. I was a little bummed out that he'd take that stance. I should have responded with: 1. Marsh 2. Trout 3. Adell 4. Ohtani 5. Upton In all, it will totally be up to Trout. I have no doubt that the Angels will open the checkbook for the greatest player of all time. -
He's sitting on a beach earning 20%.

Get Santana. F*ck it. Let's pitch.

John Sickels (now at The Atlantic) has Adell at #15 and Canning at #96. Team "Sleepers" are Knowles and Sandoval.

I'm not sure when his list came out, but Keith Law ranked the Angels as number seven on his 2019 rankings of farm clubs. This was up from number 19 in 2018. He cites better drafts and an increased focus on international signings providing the depth for the system. That's some jump. Now discuss amongst yourselves.

Angels the "Mystery Team" in on Machado?

Yes. It's been a couple of decades, but I still remember how stupid I was at 26. He's still pretty young, really. -
Horrible. I'm so sorry. My deepest condolences to you and your family.

Wow. Just read through this whole thing and it's a true train wreck. There are clearly some folks here that pessimistic toward the Angels as an organization. My questions is this: If you don't like the team, and you don't like the minor leagues, and you don't like the owner, and you don't like the business direction of the franchise...why do you continue to be a "fan?" (This is a serious question, not snark.) It would seem that this hobby should bring you joy and if it does not, why do you continue to let it make you frustrated and morose? Why not find another hobby? Life is too damn short to be miserable about something that perhaps you once loved and now is an endless source of stress and anger for you. (I got married yesterday to the love of my life. It's my second marriage. Hope it puts my comments into context.) Have a great day all!

I don't know about you all, but I do enjoy being well-dressed, and these boys are PIMPIN style!! And it's their own design line...form follows function, fer sure. Bunch of bad asses right there...

Prospect for prospect trades? How frequent?
halomatt replied to HaloMilliVanilli's topic in LA Angels | MLB Daily
Challenge Trades are rare, apparently because each team values (or overvalues) its own prospects and developmental abilities. (Read this somewhere. Keith Law?)
