Anyone who doesn't think Shields helps us by a few wins in 2015 is crazy. The question is whether you want to be paying him $18-20 mil per year in 2017 and 2018.

Personally, I'd rather give Shields 4/70-75M than Price or Cueto nearly 200M over 7+ years.

While we're eliminating the shift to increase offense can we also eliminate breaking balls? Hitters have trouble adjusting to them and it leads to too many outs. My friends 5 year old with ADD hates watching Josh Hamilton strike out on an outside slider. Now he only watched football.

Not sure Bedrock is in that time yet at all. He's only 22 and saw very little time in AAA, or in the high minors at all. Being in AAA would be really good for Cam. It'll force him to fine tune some things and learn to keep the ball down and in the strike zone.

I don't think I have ever levied a personal attack on you. I have, over the years, generally enjoyed your posts and believe you to be a smart and informed poster (whether about baseball or other matters), even though I have often disagreed with you.
But for whatever reason, you have elected to make personal attacks on me, merely because you disagree with my opinions.

Anyone catch the story this weekend anout his tweet on snipers? Said theyre cowards and later backtracked on it, saying it had nothing to do with american sniper. (Because a guy with a hollywood background and anti war platform would just randomly say that premier weekend and after academy awards were announced)
That guys has one of the biggest self inflated sense of self ive ever seen. All for free speech, and have no problem with his stance. But critiquing those doing a necessary job (like the recruiters he tried to shame in farenheit 9/11) is horseshit. Guy is an idiot and an attention whore.

Normally I don't think these guys do as well as they should with the ladies, seeing as how they are pro baseball players and all. But Mr. Smith has done just fine here.

This begs the questions, WHY do we need more government "action"? WHY do we need even more taxes and government spending? WHY do the American people need more free stuff which is not really free? WHY does the federal government's spending need to exceed inflation year after year? WHY do we need to go deeper and deeper into debt ($18 TRILLION and growing) to give people more free stuff?
 
The Republicans aren't asking those questions either. They want to grow government just like the Democrats. This country is headed for fiscal disaster, and at some point the bill will come due. Our children and grandchildren will get hit very hard.

This morning he's hitting the trail to promote his ideas from last night. A never-ending campaign for this guy. This is the only thing he really likes to do as president. That, and picking fights with the opposition. I hope he realizes that most of his proposals are DOA.

Might as well just get rid of them because they are useless now.  We started ours for our boys under a certain understanding and that has now been obliterated.
