Another general trick is to make sure you're both arguing for the best way to a common goal. For example, Vietnam. Most leftists were very happy to abandon Vietnam to the communists because they hated conservatives and the US more than they hated communists, if they didn't outright support communists. So, what's to argue?

My personal belief is that no debris was found because it didn't crash. I believe that the plane landed somewhere outside the reach of conventional radar (there are plenty of holes in the grid). For what purpose it was taken and what happened to the passengers, I have no idea. An American Airlines Boeing 777 captain who was interviewed by CNN said that a 777 low on fuel (as MH 370 would have been) could be landed and stopped safely on a runway as short as 3500 feet. This greatly increases the number of possible destinations.

The Street trade didn't cost much in terms of quality. The Angels gave up more quantity than anything else. Every prospect in that deal has the ceiling of a league average player. If we still had them now, none would rank in the top 10. Club control and a low salary doesn't mean much to me if the guy is a replacement level player. Giving up Tropeano and Bedrosian for a guy who has never posted an OPS above league average in his 5 year career should cost Dipoto his job.
Btw, Chatwood's 2013 season was nothing more than smoke and mirrors. Those peripherals scream fluke. I'd do that trade again any day of the week.

The train should never reach 106 mph.  He was supposed to be doing something like 70, and then 50 through the curve correct?  He's accelerating up to 70 and then it just keeps accelerating even though he has the throttle back?  He shuts it down.
 
I can see how it might take a considerable distance to slow a train from 106 to 50 mph.
