  1. If a guy walks 24 batters in 15 innings (which is so bad it is actually hilarious), he will never be able to limit his walks. He can literally cut his walks in half, and still be walking like 8 guys per 9 innings.
  2. Keep in mind, there are still two months before the trade deadline. That’s like ten starts - plenty of time for guys like Bundy, Cobb, Rasiel, and Quintana to build some trade value if they can actually start pitching better. Things can change a lot in two months.
  3. Blow the entire team up. There isn’t a free agent (or four) that will elevate this team to contention. Trade everyone. Honestly, I don’t think I have ever been of this belief, but I’d even be open to moving Trout. Because this team isn’t going to compete while he is still an elite player.
  4. Heaney’s FIP is a whole run better than his ERA, so perhaps he has been a bit unlucky. If the ERA normalizes and he finishes the year with a 4.20 ERA and 165+ innings, I’d be open to bringing him back.
  5. Also, for those who want to shit on Canning, I believe he has accumulated more WAR than any other pick in the 2017 draft thus far (at least he has of anyone in the first ten rounds).
  6. Trying to answer this question in a serious manner, obviously Ohtani and Canning are the two starting pieces of the rotation. Detmers, if healthy, would seemingly be in the mix. I’ll give Heaney, Bundy and Cobb another couple months before making up my mind as to any of them. But any way you look at it, the organization is likely going to need to bring in at least three, but perhaps four starters from outside the organization. That’s a tall order.
  7. It seems to me that he struggles to catch up to a good fastball. Maybe the data says I am wrong, but it sure seems like he can be over powered by someone throwing hard.
  8. They are all becoming increasingly more retarded by the day. When I gave up my R-card a few years ago, I did so because I felt the party ideology had moved so far away from where I had always known it to be. But now, I realize I left the party because it is a race to the bottom of stupidity (among other things). There just isn’t a place in the party for people whose brains function at more than 40 percent.
  9. I don’t have much sympathy for him. He fraudulently induced the Angels into giving him a large contract and then refused to walk away when it became clear he could no longer contribute. As a fan, I have been negatively impacted by the constraints his salary has put on payroll (and therefore player acquisition).
  10. My favorite is that they are concerned about the long-term effect of the vaccine on their body, but have no concern whatsoever about what Covid might do to their body.
  11. The economy is booming and anyone who wants a shot has been able to get one (mostly). He doesn’t waste his time pursuing petty, vindictive grievances or posting absolute shit on Twitter. And he actually has had the balls to stand up to Russia, unlike Donny. So an A-, perhaps?
  12. Not to mention the pitching is the worst in all of baseball.
  13. I wonder if the team will consider optioning him after outings like this and bringing up a replacement pitcher. If they option him for just 10 or so days across the course of the season, they pick up another year of club control. I am sure that isn’t lost on the front office.
  14. Agreed. And as someone who did not and never would vote for Newsom, I don’t support his recall. The voters lawfully elected him and he hasn’t done anything warranting his early removal. This is sour grapes from the Republican minority.
  15. This better not jinx the last two days.
  16. I was one of them. I also wanted Rosenthal (ouch), Odorizzi, Musgrove and Darvish.
  17. It’s just the same shit. Literally, every fucking year, the pitching absolutely blows. No excuse for the suckage Iglesias has brought to this team - he has been dog shit. The second worst team ERA in all of baseball. The fucking Pirates are better. And tomorrow we will score 8 runs. But will give up 9+.
  18. I’m done. I’ll check back in September. Not gonna waste my energy on these losers.
  19. The pitching is, yet again, a problem. We won’t the division (or even a playoff spot) with a team ERA that ranks 14th out of 15 teams. It is obviously early and these numbers are likely to improve, but this again looks like a team that doesn’t have the pitching talent to compete.
  20. Yeah, that was a long, long, long time ago. So long ago I really have no more recollection of it.
  21. Not watching the game. Is Slegers ok? Why did they pull him after just a few hitters and two outs?
