    I don’t believe they will. It would not surprise me if Simmons’ agent attempted to extend his deal and the team declined because they feel that Fletcher could fill the void. Arte is and always has been a fan of the long ball. Simmons doesn’t fit that criteria.

    Yes, but when that happens, we will forever have the memory of Mark Gubicza mangling his name into "Naughty Packton" on the broadcast.  So kinda worth it.

    I realize Barreto has not had that much playing time, but looking at this numbers, he sucks.
    Why make this move?
    Are they going to trade Simmons and they are getting Barreto for SS???

    Such an Angel move. High velocity and spin rate with terrible on-field stats and injury concerns.

    Correct, and it'll all be the Red Sox fault. It'll get it done though, but this is another reason to hate the Red Sox

    Bob Nightengale   @BNightengale · 58m   The #Angels and #Dodgers still working to finalize their deal that now is expected to include Dodgers pitcher Ross Stripling. The Dodgers would send OF Joe Pederson and Stripling to the #Angels for middle infielder Luis Rengifo and two prospects. Still, a lot of moving parts.             Eppler got screwed. Never even heard of this Joe Pederson

    We've got 11 starting pitchers. Eppler is engaging Operation: Clean Peanut for this rotation.

    Remember when Eppler cleared Cozart's salary in oder to pick up Cole but when that fell through everyone wanted to crucify him for also letting a prospect go in the deal? Pederson's salary comes out to about the same dollars so Eppler really has used that money to improve the Angels. It just took some time to craft the right deal.

    Pederson is a left handed power hitter that gave the Dodgers a .383 OBP and .983 OPS wRISP last season. This is a significant acquisition indeed.
