I thought of a few more.
Don't allow people to "like" their own post. Ability to ignore a topic. Yep, the whole thread. Ability to put someone on ignore by clicking on their user name rather than entering their name manually via personal settings (or whatever it is - not gonna check ). All 3 of these features were available on a now-defunct forum I belonged to years ago ....

P.S. Option 2 is so you don't even see a thread you have no interest in no matter how many times a new post is added.

As someone who is local to the stadium, it bothered me. The Angels play in Anaheim, they represent Orange County, not LA. For anyone whos fimilar with both, you would know that Anaheim/LA are ENTIRELY DIFFERENT places. They are like different planets when you compare them.
But im at least glad Anaheim was kept in the name, as stupid as it sounds.

A pension is a retirement account that an employer maintains to give you a fixed payout when you retire. It's a kind of defined benefit plan.
Your payout typically depends on how long you worked for your employer and on your salary. When you retire, you can choose between a lump-sum payout or a monthly "annuity" payment

I'm sure you are familiar with the concept of nuance.  A couple of things:

California residents realistically don't have a choice in paying public sector pensions.  The politicians are bought and sold by the public sector unions.  Voting districts are gerrymandered. We are screwed. The amount of money that these low paid Angels employees are paid are a mere pittance compared to a) the cops and firemen; and the Josh Hamiltons.  Again, nuance. The dichotomy of wasting literally tens of millions of dollars a year on non-productive players, while cutting the pensions of the little people is a really bad optic. Thus, people express their opinions.

He was one of those guys that his voice matched his craggily face perfectly. His on stage performances often looked like he was truly struggling to stay alive for the next stanza. His rendition of You Are So Beautiful and You can Keep Your Hat On are the best of any performer. It was truly beauty and the beast when he recorded Up Where We Belong with Jenifer Warnes the ultimate chick song from Officer and a Gentleman.

2002_halos_II reacted to Eric in Which Angel player departure has bummed you out the most?
The top of the list is Eckstein.  Not only was he just kicked to the curb, they passive aggressively pissed on him and told him it was raining when they replaced him with Cabrera (who was almost stat for stat the same as Eck) for a ton of money more. He was always dismissed as "over-achieving" for (insert adjective denigrating him here). In the end, no one ever really gave David the credit he truly deserved.  Bottom line, if Eck isn't on the 2002 Angels, they never make the playoffs, let alone win the Series. While you could say that about each of the players on the 25 man roster, and all of the coaches, it was truly Eck and Erstad that set the tone of the work ethic of the club that year. The Angels have never been the same since he left. 2002 was a "working class" team who got it done.  The Angels have become a Prima-Donna clubhouse with bloated contracts.  Sure, the 2001-4 team players were still making tons of money themselves compared to their fans, but you never got the sense that they took any of that for granted. If anyone slacked off, the rest of the team kicked them in the ass to pick it up.  Now, when someone slacks off or seems lackadaisical, meh, they'll eventually turn it around, there's no need to pressure them.

Sorry for the vent, but you asked!

I walked to get a sandwich today for lunch.  On the walk back I was carrying an ice tea in one hand and my phone in the other so I could make a couple of calls.  I used my elbow to pin the sandwich against my side as I walked back and it leaked italian dressing all over my pants.  So I smelled like an Italian sub the rest of the day.  It was kinda nice.

geez -- why some of the nasty comments about Torii?

He did good things for us and was always a positive force in the clubhouse.

as for 'running his mouth' after he left -- Yes, he made some comments but only commented after the Halos signed Hamilton to that terrible expensive five year deal (which was universally dis-liked by Angelswin.com posters on the day the contract was announced !) after Arte and F/O made comments that they couldn't afford Torii and were going in a different direction (we thought pitching) with respect to spending.

Hunter just made the remark -- GEEZ, they tell me they don't have the payroll room/ flexibility to sign me and then they sign Hamilton to THAT deal?

I agreed with Torii's comments and thought the Angels made a mistake then (and certainly now upon reflection).  I thought it was an honest reaction by Torii Hunter based upon what he was told by Arte and the F/O...........and I would have liked to have had the Halos re-sign Torii back then but understood why they did not -- however, like Torii's comments -- I couldn't understand the combination of NOT signing Torii and then giving Hamilton that deal........made and still makes no sense.

    oh well.

I will always root for Torii Hunter whatever uni he's wearing and feel he will be in the HOF.
