Seeing "The Kids Are Alright" was a revelation for me. 
 
In a BBC documentary, I think it was Pete Townshend who said Keith Moon's drumming was almost like a vocal track. Couldn't agree more. Dude knew little about technique because he flat out created his own. Sloppy and perfect at once.

Just catching the last couple innings here...Wow!  How did the Mets ever wind up in the WS?
 
Addendum: It's pretty great to hear "Let's go Royals" cheers in New York, and the poor lil' New Yorkers booing in response.  Now those suck holes know what its like when their east coast brethren stink up the Big A.

Being at an AFL game right now sounds pretty great. Just pure baseball.

The NFL continues to show its marketing brilliance, holding so called town meetings in three cities which supposedly may lose NFL teams.
 
I just saw a clip of the one in St. Louis with drones in oversized Rams jerseys essentially begging the NFL reps on the stage to keep the team in St. Louis.  Of course, there was some 'outrage' too, but basically, it gave the appearance that these peoples' lives would be over if they didn't get to keep their NFL team.
 
There really is no use or purpose for these meetings. I highly doubt the NFL is going to go back to HQ and say, "gee...we better keep the Rams in St. Louis. The dude with the (insert name of Rams' player) jersey looked pretty upset about it."
 
It's a genius way to get cities to face off against each other and think of ways to further tax its citizens to have a precious NFL team stay/or move to their town. The end game is a shiny new billion dollar stadium that the NFL owners won't have to pay a dime for.  
 
And like the sheep we are, we will fall for it. 
 
Please...keep the NFL far, far away from SoCal.

The book prob took less time to read then it did to watch the movie.

The Royal players and their fans will be insufferable if the Royals win the World Series.  Wait...they're already insufferable.  

Grienke is over rated. He does just enough to lose. When ever you see him face another ace on other team, usually Grienke teams end up losing 4-3, 3-2, 2-1. He is a good pitcher, but doesn't rise to the occasion to elite ACE in big games.

I'm so focused on the Angels I hardly care who's in the playoffs, who wins in the playoffs, who wins the World Series. I'm more worried about how/what Eppler is going to do.

I think he's been variable degrees of unhappy everywhere.  That's how his brain ticks.  

But did he show you his birth certificate?

I'm a veteran of some of those teams in the '70s that drew 14,000 to the Big A.  And I saw some good and some very, very bad in the '80s.  And again in the '90s.
 
Arte Moreno, while screwing up some of the marketing, has not made the Angels worse.  You can very much trust me on this.

I am oddly at ease with things. The Angels played their asses off the last two weeks. (unfortunately, so did the Astros). They made things fun. You won't get to the playoffs every year, and unfortunately this wasn't our year.
In the grand scheme of things, it is just baseball. So many other things in life are far more important.
I look forward to seeing what the Eppler regime does and whether Arte is willing to put up some money to improve the team.

Actually, no.  I like hard play but not flagrantly stupid hard play.  I'd be embarrassed.  Same as I'd be embarrased to have Hamiltoe on my roster.

Giovatella handled it very graciously, especially considering how young and inexperienced he is.  He said that Odor apologized after the game (I'm sure it was half-hearted), and that the best way to respond is to beat the team.
 
THAT F'ING SAID:  Odor needs to be hurt.  That was a vicious and potentially career-ending slide.  You don't believe me, look at the replay.  Giov. is fortunate his leg wasn't broken and for a dude in that position, that could have really hampered or ended his career.  I'm all for playing hard, but I'm also all for playing smart.  
 
However, you gotta hold this over until next season or spring training.  Unless it's a blow out either way and in the 9th inning today, then you bring in Gott especially to throw one at Odor's ribs.  Unfortunately, Scioscia doesn't believe in payback.
 
Flashback:  Remember when the Red Sux knocked Vladdy out of the playoffs, under a-hole Francona?  Ortiz shoulda got a pitch to the dome, but the Angels carried on like nothing happened.  I totally disagree with that approach.  You can't let your team mates get walked all over.  This is one thing I miss about Lackey.

That's why you nail him with a fastball.  If you take Odor out at second as hard as he took Gia out, you risk ending his career or putting him on the operating table.  A clean 95mph fastball will hurt like hell and serve as a friendly reminder for several days not to slide late into a defender's knee area.  Odor will be reminded every time he shifts in his sleep.
