If AJ is a super hot chick, then yes, absolutely. Otherwise I’ll consider it.

Actually Johnny Hellweg, Ariel Pena and Jean Segura were the guys in that trade.

Former Angels farmhand Loek Van Mil died yesterday from injuries sustained in an accident. He was 34.

I don’t remember him ever moving past AA ball for us. Pretty sure he went to Mil in the Greinke trade.

Out injured since 6/11, not sure with what.
.640 OPS, not a lot of power but fairly solid OBP (.349) and discipline (30:59 BB:K) with 10 steals, good defense.
I still think he has an attainable ceiling as a 4th OF. The speed, defense, and discipline are all solid enough to work at the MLB level as a 4th or 5th OF with a little more development. He has the athleticism to still come around with the bat one day too - lazy comparison, but I think about how Eric Young Jr. wasn’t much of a hitter in his career but then ‘mashed’ for us when he was here in his early 30’s.

I’d rather have Trevor Williams and Kyle Crick

Looking at it more and more, I think the Angels match up pretty well with the Pirates for a trade. I would like to see what it would take to either get Trevor Williams or Kyle Crick. Neither of them are #1 type pitchers (Crick is a pen arm) and both have control until 2023. I know Crick struggled for a year with the Giants as a starter, but since he’s found some success as a reliever, I’d highly consider trying to stretch him out again  if it doesn’t work, send him back to the pen.

They need position players and we need pitchers.

HR rate should go down when you get out of Cincy. Plus there’s the marine layer. I just don’t know how willing the Reds would be to trade him.

I would like to see Calhoun transition to 1B to split time with Albert there, but it’s hard to justify paying $14 mil for a platoon player

Ship Cahill and Cash Considerations off to the Nats for Taylor Guilbeau. Nats get bullpen help for the stretch run and a spot starter if needed. Cahill should do better in the NL since there’s a free out most of the time once every 9 players.

Guilbeau is a lefty relief guy on the Nats AA team that intrigues me. He’s not in their top 20 prospects, but has a 1.11 WHIP and 10.9 K/9 so far this year. Rare LHP that actually does better against righties than lefties, he has a .182 BA against righties and a .266 against lefties. Though he does strike out lefties at a higher pace than righties.

Just feels like like one of those prospects that just fits. Idk of Cahill is the right piece, but Guilbeau is someone I’d target.
