Does this not merit a ban of some sort?

    Complementing Sven....come on now.

Seriously, great job of coaching and a great call on the squeeze, and better execution.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Angel Oracle in For every Mike Trout in the draft, there are hundreds of swings and misses by the scouts
I searched and didnt see this posted...

There were 24 players selected in the 2009 MLB draft before the Angels took Mike Trout. (Ross D. Franklin / Associated Press) Pedro MouraContact Reporter   Inside the Angels’ clubhouse at Tempe Diablo Stadium this spring were three potent reminders that baseball scouts make mistakes.
At one end of the room sat Dustin Ackley, the second selection in the 2009 Major League Baseball draft, who received one of the largest contracts ever committed to an amateur ballplayer. A bust with the Seattle Mariners, he was in camp as a non-roster invitee, trying to stick as a utilityman.
At another end of the room was Tony Sanchez, the fourth pick in 2009, another non-roster invitee. He was thought to be ticketed for triple-A and was hoping to be the first catcher the Angels call up to the majors in the event of an injury.
Then there was Mike Trout, pick No. 25 in the same draft, the face of the Angels and generally regarded as the best baseball player in the sport. At age 25, he’s probably already two-thirds of the way to the Hall of Fame.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from Angel Oracle in 0-7 with 5 K's
First, yes its one game, but holy sheesh man....five k's from the #8 and #9 spot....Maldonado's first AB....five pitches, bat never left his shoulder.  His next two AB's...he looked totally lost.
He was great behind the plate, really quite, but can we have a catcher who can hit....seriously...
Espinosa....I knew the strike outs were going to be a thing, but....

You cant succeed with two spots in the line up at .200 or below.

HaloNArizona got a reaction from SlappyUtilityMIF in Angels Sign Yusmeiro Petit
Petit was in the midst of a solid season with the Nats and carried a sub-3.00 ERA into the month of August, but he was used sparingly down the stretch and hit hard when he did take the hill. Of the 31 earned runs he allowed last year, 16 came in his final 10 appearances (12 1/3 innings). Petit’s deal with the Nationals contained a $3MM vesting option for the 2017 campaign, and his sparse usage down the stretch may simply have been a reflection that the Nats didn’t wish to see that option lock in.

    Nice pick up....

Right now, it's not sexy, but here is your list of possible starters:
Richards, Skaggs, Shoe, Nolasco (1-4 starters, not in any order)
    For the fifth spot:
Chavez, Meyer, Smith, Wright and Pounders

Again, not sexy, but you don't always need sex to win.

Also I think we DFA Fontana once Valbuena is signed.  Unless I am missing something we only have three catchers on the 40 man...Perez, Maldonado and Graterol.

Agreed... WE are all jumping on the trade bandwagon, but this is from Rotoworld regarding Pujols:

Angels general manager Billy Eppler said Albert Pujols (foot) has begun physical therapy. Pujols underwent surgery in December on his right plantar fascia. He's expected to be limited for the start of spring training and might not be ready for Opening Day. Pujols turns 37 next week and batted .268/.323/.457 with 31 homers and 119 RBI over 152 games last season. He's now halfway through his megadeal with the Angels, but he's still owed $140 million over the next five years. Jan 10 - 9:40 AM
Nothing happens on the trade front until we know if and when AP can play.
