2016-17 College Basketball thread

The season starts in about 5 1/2 weeks.

LB State is favored by most everyone to win the BWC and BWCT titles and make the NCAAT.

They return pre-season BWC POTY PG Justin Bibbins, a dynamic distributor and 3 pt. shooter, along with another solid combo backcourt guy in Noah Blackwell, and all of their post players from a year ago plus redshirt soph Temidayo Yussef.

LB State brings in three 3 star freshman recruits, 5-8 PG Cristian Jackson (Florida, Bibbins clone), 6-3 SG Jordan Griffin (Corona Centennial HS, one of top freshman shooters on the West Coast), and 6-6 SF Javonntie Jackson (Compton HS).

They also add one of the top WCC scorers during his freshman and soph seasons at LMU in SG Evan Payne, and a redshirt freshman post player in 3 star recruit Larond Williams.

Loaded and with a top PG = may be a very good season (knock on wood).   Only negative is potential lack of size at SF, if J. Jackson needs time to develop.

And for next season, two 4 star seniors (a 7-0 center and a 6-8 SF) have LB amongst their trimmed list of schools for November signing period.

And for the 2018-19 season, a 4 star junior (6-9 combo forward) has already verbally committed to LB.

Things are looking up at LB (knock on wood).    Now, they need to start making multiple NCAAT appearances and win a round of 64 game.

Don't want to be a "told ya so" kind of guy Lou, but I knew UCLA would win last night by over 30 pts.

#FireMonson     or more appropriate because of his insistence that brutal road schedules improve a college program, leading to selling LB down the river    #FireHaroldTHill

yeah, I didn't realize how small your team is this year.  actually, I just didn't see the overall talent that you ordinarily have on the roster. we, on the other hand, are very deep this year.

we'll see just far we've come tomorrow. you just know UK will come out for blood after what happened last year

UK is loaded this season.  UCLA is loaded in their first 7 players.  The difference will come down possibly to the benches, and defense.

we're 8 deep now that 6'10" 250 lb center Ike Anigbogu is back.

it'll be 9 once Prince Ali returns

UCLA is now for real.    And with Anigbogu now playing and Ali not far behind, they are primed for a deep run in the NCAAT.

Ball is a mini-Magic Johnson.  Only downside today was the 6 TOs.

The other national top 10 recruit Leaf is already playing dominant basketball himself, 17/13 pts/rebs today.

As always, UofA is the other main threat in the PAC-12, and then Oregon and USC (assuming holding on until Boatwright returns).
