ispy45 got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Scioscia's handling of the BP
The Angels play 13 games in a row. Blake Parker completed 2 innings in a game only one time this season. If he did pitched, he wouldn't be available for today's game. Clearly, you are playing "they should have" because you know the outcome and not how the players are used regularly.

I think you mean your opinion speaks for itself and that was the point IP was making. Your opinion is based on your opinion and that is your only argument.

Look, just because the facts don't support your stance doesn't mean you have to go bitch-mode and argue what's not been said.
MS fucks shit up, he's not perfect but he's not as delusional as you want to make it and if he was it would be pretty easy to point to the facts and actually have them support you -- give it a try. So, while you're free to continue acting like a petulant child, the reality is you questioned someone else's logic with nothing to back it up other than opinion.. someone with significantly more access to information than you will ever likely be privy to despite your immense fortune and vast mental abilities.
So, spare me the idiotic bullshit about having a different opinion.. You're the one stomping his foot because others don't agree.
Last night sucked ass... Everyone is pissed about it, but FFS, let's not all go retard on each other.

You're a fucking idiot, with all due respect. Fletcher criticizes Sosh on here.

That's a good question AO. I think he sees the speed of course, but I think he likes what many on here have also noted, that's his apparent mental toughness and attitude. However, that doesn't translate to talent necessarily. He's young and he thinks he can throw his fastball by major league hitters, any hitters. He probably could if his secondary pitches were stronger, but they aren't yet.

Well said. Wild card teams are imperfect, they have flaws. The 2017 Angels are not suddenly going to turn into Divisional contenders, and dominate in any potential playoff scenario. Some young players are getting experience, some veterans are trying to keep the ship afloat, and we are learning about the strengths and weaknesses of players and where the biggest needs are for the off season. We are currently in the midst of a 5-2 road trip, I don't really care about how we won or lost games at this point, except as to how players perform under pressure. The front office has done a good job of giving this team some speed and defense, and organizing a bullpen that unfortunately is over worked. The starting pitching is coping, but they don't go deep enough into games to save the bullpen. I don't like the offensive picture, too many wasted opportunities to put teams away for good. It's going to be real hard to solve that for this season.

No Chuck. I look at a bullpen that is two deep, Parker and Petit. Middleton and Bedrosian have been inconsistent. He brought in Bedrock to pitch to two guys that had hit homers. He brought in Petit to get the two inning save. Petit struggled in the ninth, so he went to Middleton. Obviously it didn't work. But tell me how it is a bad decision. Start in the sixth inning. Did it make sense to bring him in? Then did it make sense to bring in Parker in the 7th? Of course it did, because the Angels could add to the lead. Then bring in Petit for the 6 out save. He's had a lot of 6 out outings this year. Unfortunately he allowed two runners in the 9th and he pulled him.

Left to pitch? It were his first two batters. So you bring in Middleton in the sixth to face two dudes who had already gone deep.

Bullshit Phil. He brought out Bedrosian to face two guys that had already hit homers tonight. He is far from disinterested. Petit blew it by allowing two runners. Middleton threw a belt high fastball to a guy that had two home runs on the night.

God...Sosh is frustrating.
A reporter just asked him why use Bedrosian earlier in the game instead of saving him for the 9th and he said, "Well, we are going to mix and match."
What a stupid fuck face.

It would have been better to have had Middleton to start that inning. That said, Bedrosian needs to be the closer.

ispy45 reacted to fan_since79 in AngelsWin.com Today: Exploring an Angels-Giancarlo Stanton trade
$200-300 million for Stanton (depending on the Marlins' contribution), and then we have to pony up $350-400 million (or more) for Trout?
It will cost a small fortune to attend an Angels' game. Fifty bucks for a ticket in the right-field pavilion and twenty bucks for a light beer.
No thanks.

If the Marlins think they need to get players back as part of a big plan to pivot to the future, I get it. But then what we see is money figures in a deal where roughly the Marlins will be buying prospects with how much of Stantons contract they absorb.
As long as it is a fair swap of salary for talent. . .
From the Angel perspective. . .if the Angels had Stanton they don't really need much OF help any time soon so they could move a couple of OF prospects. I would like to keep Adell though.
And if the Marlins took some salary, then having Stanton definitely would not keep the Angels feom still having salary space for other needs this offseason.
I think we are all fantasizing here about Stanton though. My gut tells me he stays there or goes to the Yankees.

And good players at that.
Its fantasy to think they just want out from under his money. Even cheap ass loria can afford him. Even with his contract, they would AT LEAST want one or two bonafide stud prospects. (At least). And eith them, maybe rhe marlins eat a fraction of rhe money hes owed.
Hate to be a bummer, but its not in the cards for us.

all teams could take on that contract. Only a few have ever shown that they would , however. The A's owners have a hell of a lot more money than Arte, but we all know they never would.
Also, I'm agreeing with you when you say they can't have their cake and it it, too. I said they won't make a deal without getting any players in return. Add that I don't think anyone will be willing to take on his entire contract, the conclusion is that, if a deal is going to be done, it means the Marlins will have to be willing to eat some contract, in turn, they will get players back.
Hope that clears things up.

Howie has been on the DL twice this season, both for extended period of times.
Fuck off.
-
ispy45 reacted to Brent Maguire in Why not Howie
Howie would definitely make some sense on this team but he might be limited to LF/1B duties at this point. His numbers defensively were not pretty at 2B in 2015 and 2016. I do wonder if he's a potential LF option for 2017 considering that's just one of many holes that will need to be filled and Howie will represent a cheaper option to allow funds to be allocated elsewhere.
-
ispy45 reacted to greginpsca in Why not Howie
last few years he has been on the dl at least a couple of times. His range at 2b has declined. Going forward, not a good choice. The team needs to get guys that are going to get better in the future, not worse.

ispy45 reacted to floplag in Stanton Clears Waivers
Just food for thought, but per various media today the Marlins are actually willing to discuss a trade for him.
Clearly anyone on that club could be had if thats true, including Gordon more than likely.
Hold up appears to be the money of course, but one has to believe that IF we were willing to take it on it wouldnt cost much in terms of prospects if anything.
So why dont we got get both, plug Stanton into LF, move Cowart to third, give them back Maybin and Escobars expiring deals and start selling tickets for October?
just a thought... lol
