I'll roll the dice and say he's busy with a full house.
You'd be correct because the house always wins.

A couple of people have made comments like this, but I'm about 99.9999% certain that if (in the extremely unlikely chance) Ohtani gets suspended for a season, he loses the deferred portion of that season's salary, in addition to the $2M in current payout.
I don't know about just a one season suspension, since Pete Rose was banned for life. Now MLB is going to have to make a decision and they should do what they should have done a long time ago and reinstate Pete Rose, he has served his damn time. They need to make a serious rule like a 3-5 year ban, but this lifetime bullsh*t is a bridge too far in my opinion. There has to be some middle ground or just stick with the lifetime ban. Just be consistent, because now their backs are to the wall with Shohei potentially violating the same rule.

I want to hear Ippei say "I have shamed my family" while he slumps his head with Japanese dramatical music being played in the background.
The camera man needs to slowly zoom in as this is happening.
Ippei has dishonored his master, so it is a sure bet he will commit seppuku.
EDIT: I should probably read the whole thread, first, in order not to Craig a seppuku post.

Any truth to the rumor Ippei was spotted at the airport in Seoul trying to bum a ride back to the US?
Waiting for a normal domestic flight must have been a Seoul-sucking event for him....

I've wondered if his whole plan at least for the guys with QOs was to get the opt outs on front loaded deals if he couldn't get them the biggest deal possible. Teams are putting a much higher value and the bonus money that comes with them on those draft picks than in the past. Fewer rounds in the regular draft and capped spending in both the draft and with international FAs has increased their value IMO.
Then I stand corrected, I was right all along!

Well I stand corrected about Boras and his clients, this late into the season. They are clearly not getting enough juice for the squeeze at this point ahead of Opening Day.

I mean it's fine, but I am truly baffled by this offseason. Spent $30 million on the bullpen but fuck all on the rotation? Also no infield depth?
Wtf are they doing?
It's the old baseball adage, that, and I am paraphrasing here, if you "can't find or afford a starter, grab a bullpen arm."

Boras is using the Angels IMO to drive up the $$$. What I was told a few months ago may not be the same today as time changes everything, especially if Bellinger's contract is any indication that the market has shifted to more money per year but less years on the contract... But we'll see. I still have my doubts.
Boy, I can only imagine how Moreno will act if he perceives that Boras has screwed them over again, a la Teixeira...

You don't need those two to confirm that.
The Mariners may have the best rotation in baseball and not a one of them throws lefthanded.
Meanwhile, the 1991 Braves (Tom Glavine, Charlie Leibrandt and Steve Avery) won the NL West and advanced to the World Series. The 1980 Yankees (Ron Guidry, Tommy John and Tom Underwood) led a team that won 103 games.
Come on Chuck, make those two work!

It also doesn't help that Ohtani was purchased with money when he came into MLB as an international free agent, so that makes him a draft dodger, too.
