Oh god, please not just Freese. If so, it confirms Dipoto's moron status.

I'm feeling pretty disheartened right now. Dipoto is not who we thought he was two years ago. He's more like Tony Reagins than Bill Stoneman. I'm wondering if he's proving to be a target among smarter GMs.

Its almost embarrassing. I'd say that the Angels are on their way to becoming a joke of a franchise, but the thing is the last four years have been terrible so we're already there. This trade just confirms it. I was hoping that we'd see a shift in gears this off-season, but it looks like more Dipoto being Dipoto.

He's basically Darin Erstad without the 2000 season. He's about average as a hitter, maybe a bit above, and a great center fielder. And I mean great.

Petey just got a major upgrading, from our floundering team to one of the very best franchises in baseball. Good for him.

Freese is coming off a terrible season in which he had back trouble and is on the wrong side of 30. Plus he's a terrible defender.
 
Bourjos is injury-prone, but still only 27 and one of he best defensive players in the game. When he's healthy he plays like a star.

LOL. This is a joke.

The point is that Bourjos had significant upside and would have made a great 4th outfielder for the Angels. You don't trade very talented players when they're coming off an injury-plagued season. You don't get a good return.

Put me on record that a Freese for Bourjos trade would be horrendous and ought to warrant Dipoto's termination.  But I'll reserve judgment until I see who is actually coming back.

God, please don't trade Calhoun or Bourjos for Freese. Terrible move.
 
Shuck for Freese won't happen. Shuck and a grade C/C+ prospect? Maybe.
 
Watching Joe Kelly pitch is more impressive than his stat line - he's got nasty stuff.
