I really don't like baseball right now.
At this point, me either, glad we’re getting a break from following this train wreck with the all star break.
Football training camps start in about 3 weeks……….

Why in the world are the radio guys broadcasting from the Big A?
Is it too much trouble for Terry and Mark to drive up the freeway to Dodger Stadium? When did this start, this never going on the road? And the crowd noise sounds fake.
Yep agree, aggravating.

Arte has yet to go over the tax threshold since buying the franchise 20 years ago.
Captain obvious would say, now would be the year to do it!

I really don't get him. He was so damn good for about a month last year, and after injury and struggle, was very good later in the year. I was really expecting that he'd build from last year and maybe hit .280/.350/.500 or so. I think he has that ability, but he's pretty much back to the guy he was before 2022.
Anyhow, eventually they need to start thinking about taking away his starter status. If Moniak keeps hitting and he doesn't, he has no place being a regular after the ASB or so.
At this point, Moniak should be starting against every right handed pitcher and Ward only against lefties.

Seattle had the bases loaded with no outs in the bottom of the 10th and failed to score. Still tied in the 11th.
It's over, Mariners lost!

You know what’s amazing? The Angels have yet to play in an ESPN Sunday night game. How is Ohtani not on that schedule?
ESPN has really gone down hill

In a pitching battle, late in the game, this shows you can do some small ball stuff to win. Bunt, steal, put pressure on the opposing team, don't swing at balls 2 feet off the plate, make contact to move runners over or sacrifice them in. Can be just as successful without having to resort to swinging for the fences.
Yep agree, some nights when the ball isn't leaving the yard I'd like to see them channel their inner Gene Mauch and play some situational small ball.

I'm assuming he'll be home today to celebrate? Not at the ballpark?
One of the most ridiculous cost cutting moves I've ever heard of. It's an embarrassment.
100% Couldn't agree more, insulting, short minded move....

I think this is giving us more evidence that we need to have more faith in Perry’s decision making.
I know a lot of us we’re questioning not getting a shortstop in the offseason (including myself).
As the old saying goes, sometimes the moves you don’t make turn out to be the best the best move you made……..

Thanks Jeff, great point.
Agree if there is a shot of winning, there is no way you trade him.
That would be sending the wrong message to the team that would hang over this organization for years to come.
Right now this team has a good shot. fingers crossed we'll look back after the season and say it was a great ride.

The emotion was tangible. On defense, at the plate, on the mound and in the dug out. You have to think Nevin was a factor in this. Maybe some of the veterans too were talking before the series started. But even the young guys were battling and fought hard.
Unfortunately with MLB Extra Innings every game is with the home broadcast. But it is informative. You get to see how the rest of the home media in each city filter and spin things. And their observations about the Angels reflect various opinions, but usually more a general consensus than unique perspectives. Some broadcasters are more informed, others hardly at all. And just about all of them (Angels included) talk and socialize with their counterparts when going to a new city.
There is a big difference between home team broadcasts and national network/streaming broadcasts. The national ones try to be more neutral and impartial. The home broadcasts are all intentionally geared for a specific market and filled with constant local anecdotes and references.
It's like that in other sports too, but not to the same extent because baseball is played just about every day and becomes something like an on going soap opera.
Yep agree, love how you sum up baseball as the soap opera of sports it is, spot on!
Would you take Scioscia back

If they were to bring anyone back, the guy that should come back is Bud Black.
need someone who knows how to manage a pitching staff.
Clearly our biggest weakness.
