Oh I get it, that its not meant to be a strike but this also gets him into trouble when he falls behind guys. He then tends to come straight over the middle and gets hurt. He still has not been able to figure out how to effectively use his ability, cause he does have alot of it. If he consistently pitches in the zone, I think he will not be forced to the middle so often. HE has tremendous potential but has not reached it yet, hopefully he does.

So what possessed you to bring that up? No my day is ruined.

I never thought or even think that it is a bad idea to have someone warming up. To be able to have the flexibility to bring someone in at a moments notice, so to speak, is good. But I definitely think that today's game lacks the excitement that you get watching a pitcher overcome adversity and battle. Plus some guys excel in these situations. The problem is that the current crop of pitchers have never been placed in this situation and may not be able to handle it.

The problem, but check the stats is that these pitchers are taken out of game very quickly today whereas in prior decades, they were left in longer. So my guess is that a 4.00 ERA in today's game probably equates to a 5+ in past years. Plus, at least Angels pitchers, have obvious control issues and that seems to be systemic in this organization. Check the stats, it would be interesting to compare (I may be wrong) although I am not sure what stat would show this, maybe total innings pitched plus appearances.

I'll add, six pitchers that the majors should not see next year.

Thing is, Maddon’s use of the pen with the Cubs was questionable, especially in the 2016 WS.
It’s definately not a strength of his.
 

All of what you say is true but the bottom line is, outside of Suarez, there is not one bullpen piece that can control where he throws the ball. They are just hard throwers and not one pitcher. The people scouting and making personnel decisions are hot garbage. 

If Rendon sits enough during the hot months, he'll be much more rested in time to watch the postseason on TV.

It's gonna be awesome when he wins Rookie of the Year for the Dodgers in 2024. At the age of 30. I wonder who will play Dipoto in the Disney movie.

Mediocrity halos in 6th straight losing season. In 22 will need a SS, RF plus 4 starters and 7 or 8 in bullpen. That is a tall order for Minasian.

I like the optimism guys but really, even if they went on a run can you imagine what this team would be like in the play-offs? The hitters might carry it here and there but we all know pitching wins pennants, and regardless of the recent improvements this team is waaaay off having a play-off calibre bull-pen and only has one starter you would trust going twice in a series. 
I hope they trade off all the short term pieces they can and try to get something in return that will help to open a genuine window of contention next year. I wish I could be more optimistic, but this team is just too far away as it is currently constructed with too many holes and too many hot and cold performers.

Yes true but during that time he had a good pitching rotation that was already established from the previous regime. He has yet to build a good pitching rotation since being here. Is it his fault, I dont know. That was what I meant in the last comment.
