I just want Ohtani to sign with someone already. I wish him well wherever he goes. But it's painful hearing other teams talking to him. It's like watching your ex dating other people. 

It will be the worst thing a Japanese person has ever done to us on a 7th of December.

I really think it comes down to Dodgers vs Angels. 
Toronto is an interesting thought, but at the end of all this, I think they come in 3rd place. 
Arte will just need to pay up and put a major plan in place to make this team competitive.

There are teams that find a way, for the most part, to be competitive every year.  This is different from the team that somewhat cycles in and out of being competitive with the “rebuild” then “go for it” then “rebuild” formula.
What I find interesting is I see lots of evidence that the Angels are trying really hard to be the perpetual contender and not the “rebuild/go for it/rebuild” model.
It’s just they haven’t quite pulled it off yet.  They need a better farm system to do it but they are trying.
The Dodgers have mastered it.  If Ohtani wants to jump on to that program to maximize his chances of winning right now, who could really blame him?  The question is if he believes in the Angel effort and progress on becoming that kind of franchise sooner rather than later.
I think if he signs with the Angels, I will personally view it as a darn good sign that the organization showed him enough of their both commitment to allocate resources and their overall plan/philosophy/strategy for me to be encouraged that there are better days ahead.
If he signs elsewhere, it doesn’t mean the team isn’t trying, it just means they didn’t convince him enough or that he just wants to join the team already there.

I don't know how the Angels could have the talent to get those pitchers, but bully for them for trying.

I’m going to go out on a limb and say something happens tonight, probably not Angels related, but a signing or a trade of somewhat significance.

The Dodgers/Dave Roberts being so open about Ohtani leads me to think he isn't signing there, and they're hoping when that becomes public it will look like he spurned them, and not that they didn't do enough to lock it in. 

It's obvious and it's not the players holding up to see $ amount. It's the other teams waiting for their next course of action.

Leave it to ABC7 news to show the most detail regarding the Angels. They're the onyl people that have openly said the Angels feel confident in retaining him...... No writer really knows at this point. HA.
