mustard relish sauerkraut reacted to Chuck in This is a fun team
Tonight's game was a ton of fun. My daughter had a blast. She was screaming her head off (RIP to my left ear).

Give credit and blame where it's due.
Jared Walsh likely wouldn't be the force he is without Maddon. Shohei Ohtani wouldn't be unleashed like he had unless a manager made the exact decisions Maddon has. Maddon lobbied for Chris Rodriguez to make the Opening Day roster and he's probably their best reliever. There is no amount of maneuvering that can overcome a Jose Quintana start. He isn't specifically losing games based on his personnel decisions.
His bullpen choices leave a lot to be desired. Until Watson got hurt, he should've trusted him way more. He has the track record and recent performance you're looking for. Pitching Mayers every single day until he went on the IL is a recipe for disaster. I love the aggressive base running, but don't let them make stupid decisions in the name of pressure. Ohtani trying to stream 3B last night with Trout at the plate was completely unnecessary.
At the end of the day, the biggest job a manager has, likely occurs in the clubhouse. And as far as the clubhouse goes, there's none better than Joe Maddon.
He's a good manager. He's NOT a miracle worker.

I'm with @Inside Pitch. I can't stand Seager. He literally owns us in every single game I've attended up here, many that I've watched on TV as well.
Screw that guy!
I was at the game that Weaver threw at Seager and right behind the Angels dugout. It was one of the best things I've witnessed at a game aside of the Angels postseason games and Vlad's 9-RBI game.

I've always disliked Seager, but because of this incident, I decided that there actually IS a good reason for it.
Same with Eric Hosmer. I would probably dislike him no matter what, but after his antics during the 2014 ALDS, when he whooped and hollered like a high school cheerleader after every little thing the Royals did, there is definitely good reason for my disliking him.
So I will go with Will Smith. His face reminds me of all the Mormon kids with whom I grew up playing basketball who never hesitated to throw a cheap elbow or knee you in the balls when the ref wasn't looking.

Needless to say this was VERY satisfying when it happened....

You know what that means? You have to give me full sized candy bars on Halloween.

He probably can’t go 10 minutes without bringing up his big red machine glory days to St. Peter.

I met Tom Seaver in 1966 when he was pitching at AAA Jacksonville, and I got an autograph that night. He was really nice to all of the kids. I was digging through some stuff in the garage and I ran across a 1966 Jacksonville Suns scorebook. I had kept score in a game that Seaver pitched.

Two pitchers in the 20th century reached 300 wins, 3,000 strikeouts, with an ERA under 3.00
Tom Seaver and Walter Johnson. That's it.

The Mets are wearing dirt on their right knee as a tribute to Seaver, whose knee would hit the ground as a result of his pitching delivery.

Man, was he ever a great pitcher. He got so much power from his torso/lower body. Great mechanics and durability. I saw him in person a number of times against the Expos, including a great duel with Steve Roger's.

November, 1967. Tom's wife waves as he heads to his classes at USC. Seaver had just been named NL Rookie of the Year for 1967.

I would love to see Joe Kelly cough up the go-ahead run(s). Dodger fans were ready to crucify him in June when he blew a game or two against the Angels.

Very proud of my Expos taking this game to extra innings.

Kelly should have been out after the ninth. They played with fire and got burned.
All that great young regular season talent for the Dodgers have choked. Except Buehler.
And an old time Angel/Dodger delivers the decisive blow.
Back to the drawing board for them once again. And six months of a deadened regular season.
Robert's exposed again as less than a great big game manager. Too much analytics, not enough intuition.

fans leaving like it's the 7th inning in June game against the padres.

Dave Roberts is a moron. Joe Kelly should have been pulled right when he walked the leadoff batter.
