Very sad.  Grew up in Queens.  Went to see a doubleheader at Shea.  Seaver threw a 2 hitter in game one.  Nolan Ryan pitched a 3 hitter in game 2.  Field level seats were $4.00.  Just a great pitcher and part of my childhood.  Rest In Peace, Tom Terrific.

November, 1967. Tom's wife waves as he heads to his classes at USC. Seaver had just been named NL Rookie of the Year for 1967.

Man, was he ever a great pitcher. He got so much power from his torso/lower body. Great mechanics and durability. I saw him in person a number of times against the Expos, including a great duel with Steve Roger's.

I met Tom Seaver in 1966 when he was pitching at AAA Jacksonville, and I got an autograph that night. He was really nice to all of the kids. I was digging through some stuff in the garage and I ran across a 1966 Jacksonville Suns scorebook. I had kept score in a game that Seaver pitched.
