Fish Oil got a reaction from Tank in Luke Bard DFA'd
This seems a bit reactionary, which is out of character for Eppler. Perhaps there is more to the story?

Fish Oil reacted to Pablo in Luke Bard DFA'd
Appeared in 8 games for the Angels. In six of them, no runs - four of those, no hits. In the seventh game, gave up 1 run. But the very visible game against Boston, he gave up 6 after coming in cold to relieve Ohtani. One (very) bad outing out of 8. Against a team that was tattooing every other pitcher they faced as well.
I'm sorry to see him go.

NO!

Fish Oil reacted to T.G. in Kyle Glasser from BA defending Trout vs. Harper & Betts with fans & east coast hacks
People need to figure this out and get out to the ball park to watch Trout as often as possible. He's a once-in-a-generation player and unlike anyone we've ever seen before. People should just appreciate him and just go out to a stadium and soak it all in. If you keep looking for someone better - you're going to miss the best there ever was.

Fish Oil got a reaction from Vegas Halo Fan in Giancarlo Stanton to the Yankees
Has any batter ever struck out 300 times in one season? Maybe we're watching history happen?

Well, you're about to see it with Ohtani in only 23 starts.
Oh, you said batter? Nevermind.

Without that wild pitch it's a grand slam.

Fish Oil reacted to Angelsjunky in Albert Pujols Production Drop Off (St. Louis compared to Angels)
This is not true, Scotty. Albert's decline was very unusual for a player of his caliber, unless you add 2-4 years to his age. Then it makes more sense. But the vast majority of great players do not decline as rapidly and steeply as Albert did from age 30-33ish. If you adjust his age up by +3, his decline from 2010 on better suits a great player age 33+.
As for the OP's question, I think it is a combination of league, injury, age-related decline, and possibly more nefarious reasons: steroids and/or him possibly being older than advertised.
I would also add overwhelming pride and a willful stubbornness to make adjustments, and instead focus on the long-ball at the expense of just being a good hitter.

Fish Oil got a reaction from fan_since79 in Jorge Polanco suspended 80 games
I'm hoping that one day MLB will recognize what a truly great player Bonds was. He will always be the poster boy of the steroid era, but underneath all that stuff was one of the all-time greats.
