Watched a bit of Dana's start today;
Fastball was 94 to 96 and he was getting pasted hitters with ease. I'd give it a 60 grade pitch. 
Slider is his second best pitch, and to me it looks like it was flashing plus. Not a sweeper, but a slider with a tight break. Also a 60 grade pitch
Change, saw a quite a few changes today, I would consider it to an average to above-average pitch. Biggest thing I noticed was a lack of command, missed a quite a few up in the zone compared to his other pitches. The few he located really well down the zone looked Above-average to me. 
Curve, saw a few but not to many. Isn't a put out pitch. 
 
The upside is still there for him to be a 2/3 in any rotation. I think he still needs work with refining his stuff and control of his pitches. I would probably prefer that he stays in AA thru out the season with a goal of 80 to 100 innings. Next year start him in AA with a shot at a call-up late in the year. There is no real reason to rush him. Let him develop and understand the game.

Also, Crouse might be another BP arm to keep an eye on. he was once a big time prospect! 

Does anyone know if MIlB is planning on using the same baseball in AA that were used last year? 
 
On that note, that AA rotation is going to have some series fire with Mederos, Koch and Dana.

I've been following this draft since the top draft list was posted. From what I've gather and heard, this is draft that's going to be heavy with college hitter, while being weak on the pitching sides and teenagers. 
The top 3 potential hitters that could go 1.1 are; Condon, Bazzana, and Wetherholt.
The top pitchers that could go 1.1 are Burns and Smith 
For me personally My pick is Braden Montogomery, he has ranged between 6 to 9 in most mock draft. He is a switch-hitting outfielder with plus-plus power and an 80-grade arm that can potentially be a middle of the order bat.  
 
Baseball American released their first mock draft, and they have us selecting Jonathan Santucci, LHP. Which I'm not a fan of. 

Silseth was a bit unlucky in the first inning thanks to the bad defense. He would probably had been charged with at most one run in that inning. But Overall the stuff looks good!

For get the next 29 games, I think by the All-start;
1. Detmers and Silseth will be out numbers 1 and 2 starters. They will also pitch like it.
2. Taylor Ward will have an All-star like year
3. O'hoppe will be hit 285 345-OBP with 15 hrs.

Soriano's TJ history scares me, but he's always had shown the stuff to be a top of the rotation arm, with a plus plus sinker, a wipe-out slider. command/control, health and the  development of a 3rd pitch was the big question. It'll be interesting to see what they end up doing with him

I have to disagree. 
it's a short term deal. 3 years is  good deal considering Snell's age and injury history. 
there's enough money left where you can offer Snell that 35 mil year one, and work out the other 2 years without have issues with money. 
if he decides to opt-out it works for us aswell with the crop of free agents next year. If he gets hurt or underperforms.... well we out of that contract in 3 years instead of 5 or 6 years. 

Interesting, Arte might finally be changing his approach and it also sounds like analytics are going to be still in play.
 

I think either Canning or Anderson get the opening day start.
personally would love to see Canning, Detmers, Sandy, Silseth and Anderson.

Man, Mederos has looked like a completely different pitcher from what we saw last year. He has looked more calm and collective while harnessing his command/control of his stuff. There is some really solid #2/3 upside in him with his power stuff. He really does remind me  alot of G-rich before the TJ. 2 plus pitches, with an good curve. 
Koch, in the limited spring training, looks like he can have a solid career with just his sinker alone. He gets that pitch deep inside and hitters are struggling. 
Dana, Dudes getting eyes on him, and I would not be surprised if he finds himself on a few top 100 list either by end of spring or   early in the season. Dominating stuff!
