We have already bagged the Raiders. The Athletics were recently given permission by MLB to visit prospective cities for relocation. Their first stop is here, next week. They will meet with city leaders for several days and visit potential stadium sites.

Since there is no longer a restriction about major and minor league teams playing in the same market, local media has reported that the AAA Aviators might not be done here if their parent club moves to town.

The City of Henderson had talks with the Arizona Diamondbacks, but they apparently didn't gain much traction. This one may have legs.

Have you been to the AAA stadium?

I've seen it from my room at the Red Rock hotel overlooking the stadium.  Looks great.

Just let the A's play there.

They'll probably just continue paying, like it was deferred money, and we won't see him around at all.
Much like his first contract he'll get paid for just about nothing.

Never forget, Arte Moreno is a business genius.

  3. Trout's injuries start to mount.

    https://www.theringer.com/mlb/2021/5/19/22443240/mike-trout-angels-injuries-impacting-record-breaking-pursuits

From 2012 through 2016, the first half-decade of his reign as the best player in baseball, Trout never took a single trip to the injured list, nor did he ever miss more than three Angels games in a row after being called up for good from the minor leagues.

But over the last half-decade, the Angels’ star center fielder has become far too acquainted with the IL. He missed 39 games in 2017 with a torn thumb ligament. He missed 19 games in 2018 because of wrist inflammation. He missed 19 more games in 2019 after foot surgery. And now he’s expected to miss six to eight weeks in 2021 with a calf strain, suffered while jogging on the basepaths Monday night.

I'm not going to share my entire story but my dad passed away 10 years ago. He didn't have a will or a trust and had a live in girlfriend. Big legal mess that I didn't ask for being a only child. Please make sure your parents have a will or a trust it will see you a ton of headaches and legal fees. I enjoyed him as a dad but he left me with some hard decisions he could have made.

I had forgotten all about this thread, and got a notification this morning about one of my posts.

My mom died of cancer in 2016 (hold a Stand Up For Cancer sign, yo!).  My parents had their trust in order to a "T".  Its honestly one of the best things my parents ever did.  She died in November, my brother had to rehab the entire interior of their house because of the cigarette smoke, and hired the realtor.  I was the executor and took care of everything else.  We had the entire estate wrapped up and distributed by first week of February 2017. Was able to wire a nice chunk of money to my two sisters, who had never had a pot to piss in their entire lives.

Guys, if you have kids, and have assets, and don't have your estate in a trust, get your shit together.  Or your kids will be complaining about you in a couple decades.  PM me if you are unsure what to do.

The ONLY reason any team would pick him up would be to put butt's in the seats.

He didn't put butts in the seats here.

After 10 years, I still don't understand this erroneous line of thinking.

Only in St Louis is that decrepit old hag going to cause one person to purchase a ticket.
