There is nothing ethical about eating plants over meat. That is a made up argument by people who have an inferiority complex and need something to make them feel important.

Justin reacted to AngelsLakersFan in At what point does the team need to seriously consider moving Ohtani?
The Angels will give him an extension and he and Trout will continue to carry a crappy team to somewhere around the .500 mark for the next five or six years.

As soon as he turns down our best offer then you consider trading him.  By the way he will sign an extension and I am not at all worried about retaining him.

Had a fun afternoon today. I'm always in search of interesting people to do an assembly at my school, so I reached out to Jeff Fletcher. Was wonderfully surprised when he said yes, so today was the day he showed up. He spoke to the kids for a few minutes about his journey in becoming a writer and what it's like to do something that he so completely loves. He and I did a little Q & A, and then we gave the kids a chance to ask some questions.
It started off well enough, but then they remembered that they're 12 and 13. We got questions like "What's your favorite juice?", "What's your favorite jam?", "What's your net worth?", and my personal favorite, "When you eat cereal, which do you put in the bowl first, milk or cereal?" (this has apparently become quite a hot topic on my campus). Jeff handled it all very well (OJ, grape jam, not very much unless his book really takes off, and cereal first, for those who may be interested) like the professional that he is.
Thank you, @Jeff Fletcher. It was more than a pleasure.

@Capital_Dave I've been wanting to get over to Louisville Slugger where they make the bats and do the Bourbon Trail.
I'm just 15 or so minutes from the Kentucky border in Robertson County, just 35 min north from Nashville.
It was going to take a lot for us to move from our house on the river in WA state, a house that my dad built and that I had so much history & good memories in, but it was time for a change for many reasons, most of which is because my youngest was moving to Nashville at the beginning of the year anyhow. We wanted to be close to her and to the rest of our family since we would no longer have family in WA.
We got a really nice custom built home in the country side on two acres with a heated pool, koi pond, built in smoker attached to outbuilding, three car garage turned into a party house equipped with a full kitchen, bar, bathroom and TV, not included in the 4500 square foot portion of the house. All for a damn good price in a good, quiet area.
Hoping to retire here in a few more years. Going to get a couple Australian shepherd dogs and some goats. The neighbour has three horses, a donkey and a couple cows that are friendly. They come right up to our fence line and we feed them apples.
Everyone is super nice here. Southern hospitality. Good food. Four seasons of weather. I also love that there are no mask or vaccine mandates here.

Still have a few more items to add to one of the shelves, including that Ohtani bobblehead coming soon.
Thinking about getting this for the other corner in my office.

Also, thanks to @Jeff Fletcher for the bobbleheads. I wish I kept all the ones I had over the years but I gave most of them away because I had no room for them at the old house in WA.

Angels vs. Orioles, though I do not remember what season it was. I am guessing 1987. I remember nothing about the game; I remember being amazed at the size of the stadium.
My dad was a kid in the San Gabriel Valley when the Dodgers moved to L.A., so of course he became a Dodgers fan. But he bought me an Angels hat and some baseball cards at that Angels game, and thus I became an Angels fan, even though we lived much closer to the Dodgers than Angels. We would go to far more Dodgers games than Angels during my childhood - probably by a factor of 10 - but he never tried to encourage me or bribe me to become a Dodgers fan.

Milwaukee Brewers at California Angels, 1973, Little League day.
    Brewers won, 1-0.
My whole baseball team was sitting in section (approx) 131, & I remember how mesmerized I was during warmups between innings, when the right fielder was playing catch with the center fielder.
How far they seemed to be able to throw effortlessly.
I remember the concession stands had hand placed black & red lettering on a lit up board selling hot dogs, hamburgers etc. very generic.
I remember the Angels pitcher was left handed, because of the pickoff move.
In Little League, we didn't use pickoffs yet, and lefty's in Little League were kind of uncommon.
Every lefty always seemed to be an automatic first baseman back then.
I remember how HUGE the stadium seemed.
After the game, as we were in the parking lot, my father said to me: Someday, when this place gets built up, he said looking into the hills past the outfield, they'll rename this team "The Anaheim Angels".
He was 100% correct. It's a memory I'll take to my grave.
