Absolutely.  It's unfair to assume he comes in and dominates everyone right away.  I'd be happy with him pitching 120-130 IP this year and pitching like a #2/#3 in his first full season with us, while showing us the promise that he can in subsequent seasons elevated to a 150+ IP #1/#2 SP.

If Ohtani does struggle to start off the regular season, we have to remember that no every star player do well early on in their careers. Trout, Altuve, Kershaw, and many others didn't play like the players we all know today in their first year of playing in the Major Leagues. Most guys take like 3-4 years to become superstars, although Trout only took a year to reach that level.

I'll say if the Angels don't make the postseason this year, assuming if everyone is healthy or almost everyone, then he's not coming back as Angels manager next year. He did a very good job last year. as I've stated before, considering the situation that he was put in, but he's got a bigger challenge this year with a roster with even more talent than last year's team.

Losing to the A's? And how many outs on the basepaths? Also no Trout or Ohtani. It's like Sosh is just mailing it in! Guess the lasagna was getting cold.

Haven't been this pumped up for a season of Angels baseball since 2012.

Although Scioscia will cite that just because Pujols had the most RBIs last year on the team, he would want Pujols over Trout.

It might even help Pujols out, too. He's become to pull-happy since he joined the Angels. The shift has taken a lot of hits away from Pujols and if he starts to use the whole field again, his batting average should go up a lot, to about .270-.280 if he actually is lock in at the plate more often than since he's joined th Angels.
