Angelsfan1984 got a reaction from Vladdylonglegs in Oakland A's announce plans for new ballpark
So are they going to put 150 foot on deck areas in this one? They should definitely make it about 15,000 person max capacity so they look sold out every night.

I'm telling you....9 starters going 1 inning a piece every night. That's the best we can hope for.

Angelsfan1984 got a reaction from Tank in Meyer done for 2018
Our pitchers definitely have upside in that their arms are still attached. Although I'm starting to worry about that at this point. I think we should have no bullpen and just sign 9 starting pitchers to go 1 inning per game.

6 no hitters in AAA for sure and then he'll get a torn UCL taking a dump before his first MLB start.

Angelsfan1984 got a reaction from HALOS23 in Should Scioscia be in the running for MOTY?
Who said the team was loaded? I certainly didn't. Who do you bring in to pitch with a bloated payroll via the decisions made by Dipoto and Scioscia? You want to tell me that Scioscia didn't sign off on Hamilton, Wilson and Pujols? Can you imagine where this team would be without Parker, Bridwell and a slew of other players that while not allstars are putting up good enough numbers for us to even be in a wildcard spot?
My eyeballs tell me stop throwing Pennington in there every freakin day. Or when a reliever is getting blasted to not keep him in just to give up a game tying double. How about when you have someone like Cowart on a hot streak just to be given a day off to the point where he has lost his groove. That's not a GM issue, that's General Olive Garden trying to outsmart the analytics. How many times have you said to yourself, "why not just leave the pitcher in" after he brings in a reliever that immediately gives up the go ahead runs? Stop fooling yourself. I'm not claiming to be an expert but I can tell you that shit has been happening for years now and he only has a job because of the constant injuries. We'd probably have the same record had nobody gotten hurt this year.

Angelsfan1984 got a reaction from JarsOfClay in Should Scioscia be in the running for MOTY?
You cant be serious with his bullpen management can you? He either pulls pitchers too early or leaves them in too long. I've yet to watch a game where I felt good about a pitching change hes made. Again, I'm not claiming to be an expert but I can tell you when Norris is getting lit up or cant hit the strike zone. If I can see it, Salami boy should be able to as well from 30 feet away.

The team wins in spite of Scioscias idiotic moves. He makes head scratching moves to even the most basic baseball fan. Eppler at least provides scioscia with decent options.
