  1. Hopefully over 18, if Polonia is the guy I'm thinking of.
  2. Happy Holidays everyone! Thanks for adopting us Angels MLB forum refugees! May the Halo light up more often this upcoming season!
  3. The franchise was administered poison when.Georgia Frontiere took control of the team. They returned beaten up and left for dead. The rebuilding begins with the right coach hire.
  4. In the past couple of years Hamilton has demonstrated that he can avoid relapse when he stands to gain $60 million of free money by doing so. That's why I think he's a fraud. A hopeless addict couldn’t do this.
  5. http://www.mlbtraderumors.com/2016/12/rangers-likely-to-re-sign-josh-hamilton.html
  6. I'm sure there will be a day in his honor after he retires, and well deserved.
  7. I'm just happy they upgraded LF and 2B. Not sure why they traded a 26 year old catcher for a 30 year old catcher but I think Eppler knows what he's doing. You could do worse than Escobar, and we have.
  8. I'm tired of first or second round playoff exits. If short-term patience gives us a legitimate shot at a World Series, I'm for that.
  9. Not meaning to be sarcastic, but they need luck to reach the postseason. I think management is looking at 2018 to contend.
  10. 2009 was the best Angel team to overcome the adversity they did, with a .500 record on June 8, to finish with 97 wins. I was angry when the Yankees with Teixeira beat them for the pennant.
  11. I don't think the Angels will sign Wieters because he's a Bora$ client. I thought Bandy was a good fit and I'm surprised Eppler traded him.
  12. That's what frustrated me. It seemed like he would over-think and nibble himself into a jam. When he didn’t do that he was a fine pitcher.
  13. Wow, you think players you grew up with are indestructible, then you get sobering news like this. Hope Rod is with us a long time.
  14. Caught me by surprise. Hopefully Eppler has more up his sleeve.
  15. I was thinking we'd get a better than anticipated second baseman this week and wonder how we're going to replace the pitching we gave up in exchsnge. Don't really expect a big splash, and think they are going to hold up on acquiring a big salary until 2018. I was surprised by some of the salaries given by certain teams during the winter meetings. Angels may have sticker shock in 2018 and stand pat.
  16. I'd love to get through a game with two pitchers. What I wonder though is how often can you use a reliever who gives you 2-3 innings per trip?
  17. I was thinking the same thing, unless they don't think he can play a full season and want him playing in October and not March.
  18. I remember him being interviewed prior to a Dodger game in the early 70s and he said it upset him for an hour, then he got over it. I'm sure there trying moments but the fact he lived to be 90 seems to indicate that it didn't ruin his life.
  19. I was unhappy with Dipoto's departure because it meant the subordinate (Scioscia) demonstrated that he had more power. Since then, we got a GM who has been able to work in harmony in the organization without a need to flex his muscles. It looks to me that the Angels organization is functioning better with Eppler in place, so I think parting ways with Dipoto made the front office better.
  20. It's bad enough to have "Odor" as your last name. I'll bet Rangers announcers have been threatened with termination if they joke about it. Bob Costas said his teammates call him "Stinky".
