stanick88 got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Jamie Barria can he be rotation answer?
I agree, except for Canning. I think Canning still has a pretty high ceiling if he can stay healthy and keep finding a way to keep his arm loose in between innings.

stanick88 reacted to Angels in 2030 in Jason Castro traded to the Padres for Gerardo Reyes
For 25 games of a backup C who’s a rental - I’ll take it. Not bad actually. Expectations

stanick88 reacted to Lazorko Saves in Tommy La Stella traded to the A's for Franklin Barreto
Hey, we got Oakland's version of Brandon Wood in return!
I think I would have rather had a D-level pitching prospect.

stanick88 reacted to Taylor in Jo Adell is a hot mess
Was Adell's defense always this poor, and everyone overlooked it because of his other tools? Since the Angels drafted him, I don't remember hearing anything about his defense until he made several errors in the July exhibition games.

The bullpen was great today.

stanick88 reacted to Stradling in OC Register: Dylan Bundy pitches Angels to victory in debut with new team
I don’t want to get ahead of myself, but Bundy has a horrific fastball, but his “secondary” pitches are both above average. I read an article saying his fastball was the second worst pitch in all of baseball last year. The belief was if he changed the percentage of usage of his pitches he could find real success. Here’s to hoping that is the case. IF it is and that is a huge if, then Eppler deserves huge props for finding this opportunity. Oh and he doesn’t even have to be an Ace or a #2, he just has to be a reliable mid rotation starter.

Pujols 4th and Taylor Ward 5th, I don’t see how this offense doesn’t score runs.

I can't wait for 15 years from now when we are reminiscing about that game that nobody attended, that went to Extra Innings, after winning the game 1-0, and we started the 10th inning with a runner on second.
2020 amirite?

stanick88 reacted to Angel Oracle in Where do you bat Albert in this lineup?
I think he'll do fine. I'd bat him 6th or 7th, depending on how well Simba is hitting.

stanick88 reacted to Chuck in Finally!! All three exhibition games will be televised next week!
I think actually watching a game vs. an opponent will finally stoke the fire within us baseball fans in preparation of the 60-game season ahead.

stanick88 reacted to failos in LAT: Take a look at what the #Angels are proposing for their stadium and the new neighborhood surrounding it.
Horrible. Where are the helmets and the waterfall? And wtf is with the stadium being wrapped with images of players? Horrendous.
Is that a Carvana tower in the middle?

stanick88 reacted to AngelsLakersFan in LAT: Take a look at what the #Angels are proposing for their stadium and the new neighborhood surrounding it.
Come to think, in 30 years when our team's project is finished the Rangers will have already replaced this stadium with one that has air conditioning AND doesn't look like a barbecue.

Yes, guess they modeled it after the Fullerton Home Depot.

stanick88 reacted to Vladdy Issues in The Official 2020 MLB Amateur Draft Thread (June 10th & 11th)
Funny story... Tommy Lasorda yelled at me once because of this. It was early 2003, I was working at Buca Di Beppo in Universal City Walk as a food server and a party of 15 dodger executive came in and management trolled me (as a young man I was a passionate dodger hater) by giving the big party to me.
Being a professional and HAVING NO CHOICE I took the table in the Pope Room and greeted everyone as they walked in, showing no emotions and just going through motions... and then I see Bill Bavasi (who was working for the dogs at that time) walking up and my enthusiasm went to another level.
NO JOKE my exact quote "Dude Bill Bavasi!!" as I walked up to him and shook his hand and pull him in for a bro hug. Poor guy thought the other people in the party put me up to this (he actually asked them) and then I started talking about how my enthusiasm and appreciation was real for all that he's done for the Angels.
I went on a rant TO THE WHOLE ROOM about how most of the players on our World Series winning team were picked by him and how he deserves a lot of the credit for everything. It was a real awesome moment for me. So get everything set up during the meal, go extra all out for Bill Bavasi and then get the wrath of Tommy Lasorda at the end.
Tommy basically said something along the lines of a what makes a great comedian a great comedian is knowing the crowd they're dealing with and that I should've known better being in Los Angeles and not showing the dodgers respect and something about me not being raised right.
The whole time I'm smiling and laughing cause it was funny the reaction I was getting and Tommy walks out of the Pope Room to our manager standing outside telling the manager to find a better server with better taste in baseball.
Bill Bavasi and few other guys who walked out last went up to the manager and told him that Tommy was joking and that I was a good server... Bill Bavasi hung out for a few minutes more afterwards and gave me an extra $20 for the service and thanked me for my appreciation. Bill Bavasi is a cool dude.
