Man I said I wouldn’t get frustrated with this team this year but what in the fuck kind of trash decision is that???
-
WTF IS RON WASHINGTON DOING
-
And Soriano for a 3rd inning… what’s going on?
-
A little irritated we didn’t get that run in from 3rd with one out, that’s the most basic fundamental baseball.
also going with Soriano for a second inning with Matt Moore chilling down in the pen is really irritating.
there were ways to put the game away

That was a terrible call, but that was an umpire's call, not a scoring decision.
MLB picks and chooses.
they could have made it right
-
Damn it.
It would be nice to win the game but Soriano has a different idea… why would Ron let him go back out after struggling so much with his breaking ball the last inning. stupid
-
If you can do that then go back and give Armando Gallaraga his no hitter back… WHAT THE HELL

Lol, this is a bizarre thing to be going back and forth on. To the best of my knowledge, they've never listed a later start time for a home opener or any other game before which there has been some sort of ceremony.
I asked a question about the game being delayed because I’m at work and checked the mlb app. Back and forth? Lmao ok

No.
I’ve been to a couple home openers and don’t remember that ever being the case. Link?

? It's the home opener, so there are always ceremonies, intros, etc.
? Aren’t the pre game ceremonies usually factored into the start time
-
What’s the cause of the delay?

$12 tickets on StubHub. Yikes.
It’s not going to sell out. Naturally, people are trying to offload their tickets for whatever they can get

Let's say you were the person to catch the home run ball, and you knew it was valuable to the Dodgers and Ohtani. What would you want for it?
I'd be stoked just to catch a HR ball, because that's a once in a lifetime experience (unless you go to a lot of Marlins or A's games). Giving it up would be difficult.
I’d hold onto it. If they wanted to give me a crazy offer i couldn’t refuse then the ball is in their court.

I don't understand how Ohtani's first homerun ball as a Dodger is worth $100K.
I also am dumbfounded by that.
MLB and fans have acted like he has never played major league baseball In the LA market before. Kind of odd
There isn’t even a guarantee he is going to be great as a dodger… sure he will probably have some good moments but there is a pretty small chance Dodger fans all love him at the end of that contract. Hes going to get the Pujols treatment at some point

Sam Blum stirring up shit with the entire Dodgers fan base on twitter is so f**king funny to me

Rengifo is a much better leadoff option than Rendon.
Better offensive upside at this point in their careers, runs better, etc.
-
I think it has been said since before spring training started that if we got some solid performances from the regulars (not out of the realm of possibility), the starting pitching and bullpen had the capability of keeping them a float.
not saying it’s happening after 6 games, but floating around as a wild card contender and then catching fire in September isn’t a 0% chance.
-
I know it’s the marlins but sweeping any team in a 3 game series on the road is impressive.
Ron Washington made some nice managerial moves, starting pitching stepped up, bullpen looked much better, offense seems to be settling in.
im going to enjoy this little streak because it hasn’t been often there is optimism surrounding this team.

As long as it’s not @Angelsjunky saying it you’re good
Gameday Thread (4/5/24): Red Sox @ Angels Home Opener! Canning on the mound

Spent all that money on the bullpen to give up runs in innings 6-9 from a prospect we are forcing into a starting/reliever hybrid role.
1 in the 6th, 1 in the 7th, 1 in the 8th, and 1 in the 9th to demoralize an offense that fought back and deserved to win.
angels baseball.
