Obviously not. He was a solid choice as a transition manager when Arte was planning to sell but that's all backfired now. 

That people gravitate to and comment in because there’s actual truth in the subject matter. Unlike your leadership thread which is asinine because you have very little understanding on that subject.

It makes sense in theory, but you have to have a feel for the game and your players. Closers don’t do well in non closing situations, this has been well documented in baseball for a long time. And Jaime Barria has legitimately the worst “stuff” on the entire staff…. And he thought the 9th was a good spot for him.

You can only go back to the "well the players just need to play well" well in certain instances and only so many times. Lately the managerial decisions have been downright baffling. 

Thank fully they don't require anyone pass an IQ test in order to connect to the internet and punch a keyboard.  Otherwise we would all miss so much comedic musings.

I agree on Wise needing to be evaluated. In all honesty the Angels have not had an excellent pitching coach and a solid pitching identity and direction since Bud Black left. 

I think Maderos will be all right with a little more work on his control. Every pitch seemed to have movement and controlling that movement is where he will succeed. But he may be up too soon.

I don’t think there’s any way Ohtani is not an Angel come next year. He loves it here, and if he’s not signed long term, the franchise would take such an incredible hit! He has become so big, especially for the franchise, there’s just no way Arte doesn’t see this. I have a nephew visiting Japan as we speak, and Ohtani and his accolades are everywhere in Japan. He is Japan right now. 
 
Besides, there’s no way Arte wants to go down in baseball history as the guy who lost the Goat.

Another point is, for the Angels to replace Ohtani, we’re talking two elite level players. A #1 starter and maybe the best power hitter in baseball will cost 60-80+ million per year.

Yeah, that was brutal. In one of the series when it counted most we lost by scores of like 9-1. Just awful.

I just have a feeling. I know it's going to happen. 
We're going to keep Iglesias, Cobb, and Heaney. We're going to trade some minor leaguer for a middle of the road RP. And we're going to be force fed the line by Perry and Joe (and Arte if he crawls out from his vault) that when we get our guys back, we're going to make a run. That the pitchers that have struggled will all regress to their mean. That we believe in this team. That injuries have sidetracked us but the clubhouse believes we can do it. And then Trout will come back around his birthday, Rendon the same. And they will both struggle for the last 40 games. 
I really hope they sell. I hope there is a plan. I hope Perry is actually doing something. It just doesn't seem like it. Case in point: the Scherzer thing was clearly a leak from the Angels FO to make it look like they were doing something. They had no shot. None. They're just trying to appear to work hard. I'm worried they'll do nothing.
