    Every year we want to buy at these FAs absolute peak. I'm all for signing a #1 or #2 but let's not try to only sign when they hit their absolute highest peak imaginable. I don't know the solution but we need to somehow find more Bundy's too.

    It's all about drafting and developing but also winning on trades. This opens many doors. Look at the Rays for example. Most people couldn't name 3 guys on their team yet they had the 2nd best record in baseball and almost made the World Series last year. They have a line of young guys waiting to come in and be productive. Also, everyone knows you rarely win a trade with them.

    Limited success in AA doesn't usually translate to immediate success in the bigs. He needs a full season of AAA at least.

    It's dark when you have the absolute best player in the game and another guy that is top 5 and never even had a shot at the playoffs in a year when more teams make the playoffs then don't.

    Two anchors (pujols and upton), lack talent development, an owner who prefer the big splash to filling a teams needs, a GM who has whiffed on SP horribly, bad luck (?), the list goes on and on. Sad times.

    I hate to be a Debbie Downer but I still think we are over valuing Bundy. I realize he has a year of control so that definitely helps but a handful of excellent starts and the last few decent won't exactly land us anywhere near what Clevinger brought in for example. I think we are going to be sorely disappointed at whatever we get back.

    We've been clamoring for pitching so long but this board would lose it's shit if we traded Adell and/or Marsh for a SP. It would be interesting to see the reactions here at least.

    It’s insane the MLB seemingly leaves it up to the teams discretion if they want to isolate someone or not for a bit after a trade.

    So the clock is hitting .083 and Upton is hitting .133 Upton > clock edit: actually the clock is only hitting .001 (2 for 1,440 every day). Upton destroys the clock frankly.

    We need to be trading all the guys with expiring contracts for anything we can get. I just hope we ask for a pitcher back instead of more middle IFers.

    We were never going to get much for a month or two of LaStella. I don't know why anyone is upset about the return we got here.

    I'd wait to consider trading Adell. Him sucking it up this year has definitely temporarily (hopefully) lowered his value.
