    History tells us that Artie will overpay for someone on a long term deal this offseason. He really prides himself on landing big names. I'm sure Artie would have matched some of these other contracts that players are getting but let's not forget it takes two to make a deal. The reality is we lose out on a lot of deals because players are choosing other teams sometimes, and not just our lack of spending or trying to spend.

    No one here interested in Carlos Rodon? Might be nice if we strikeout on Stroman.

    I predict Marsh or Adell + Canning for someone's #3/4 pitcher would make the board a bit upset (and I can see it happening).

    I agree 100%. I would just prefer us to land a big name starter. But plan B is better than nothing.

    I have this feeling that we might miss out on the remaining pitchers now and Artie will sign Correa or Seager in panic. Similar to what we did with Rendon.

    Mets payroll currently at $267M and likely will surpass $300M before it’s all said done. I guess Cohen really is willing to spend whatever it takes.

    I really want to see this deal with the Mets fall through just to see the Twitter meltdown from Cohen.

    No but I also think a FA is more likely to decide against the Mets and sign with another team for less $. The Dodgers on the other hand, not too many bad stories about their ownership or leadership.

    Unfortunately anyone not named Scherzer might be waiting on him to see what he sets the ceiling at. If the Dodgers don't land Scherzer we will have a hard time signing one of the big remaining names.

    Cohen willing to spend whatever it takes to completely outbid everyone else, even if it means a massive overpay. He's upset about losing out on Matz and doesn't want to be embarrassed again. Scherzer probably prefers the Dodgers but if the Mets are willing to pay completely crazy, stupid money, he will probably take it. With that said a 1, 2 of DeGrom and Scherzer is terrifying.

    We got our high risk, high reward guy so now we are going to sign Mr. Reliable Stroman. I think it will be announced in the next day or two.

    This is one of those deals that we will look back on as amazing or total crap, I don't see much in between here.

    I'd probably avoid Bauer.

    Speeding up pitchers is a big one for me. Nothing is worse than a guy who takes forever in between pitches. And if I never see the Manfred runner again it will be too soon!

    So there was so concern that Trout wouldn't be ready for Spring training? Nearly a year after his 60-90 day injury?

    I find it weird that Greinke was on our team for a bit.

    New relationship honeymoon period. He didn't have that with us because we got him in the offseason so the honeymoon wore off by opening day!

    They should do exploratory surgery now and get it over with. I have a feeling he will "feel something" in ST next year.

    I never understood booing your home team and/or players. Do they think adding insult to injury is going to make them perform better?

    Whatever happened to the guy we signed and released about 3 times in one year back in maybe 2018/2019? Let's give him a ring.

    Cubs are pretty much a AAA team at this point so this doesn't mean much. If he rakes in the majors then we can all bitch.
