I'm really looking forward to when taxpayers have enough and we end up with a taxpayer vs. pensioners brawl.  Something like this but I expect the pensioners to be a lot more tan and plump from desert trips and Costco runs:

 

He was a gamer and fired up whenever he was on the mound or in the dugout which is more than I can say for some other players.  Father time gets us all and his decreasing velocity over the years didn't bode well for a long career.  Hess one of my all time favorite Angels but I won't feel too bad for him since he made over 100M playing a game he loved.

Agreed that it's selfish but to actually get to that point you have to be in a real bad place.  It's not something someone just up and decides to do on a whim.  RIP. 

As far as actual moving goes one thing I actually don't mind is the fact that we're forced to go through everything and can toss some of the garbage we've shoved into closets or the garage the last so many years.

Idiot voters approving tax hikes on the higher earners along with approving ridiculous bond measures doesn't mean the state can actually afford all the crap that gets approved.  All they're doing is kicking the can down the road and burdening future tax payers while pissing off current taxpayers some of whom are leaving the state.  People have no issue with it because the economy has picked up but during the next recession when the state/cities are facing a deficit and you couple that with obscene pension obligations (heard more about it circa 2008 than we do now) we're going to see taxpayers and cities suffer.  No amount of voting on tax hikes, bond sales or bond measures are going to fix the financial problems the state is facing long term.  Most everything they do is reactionary and nothing is setting the state up for long term success. 
I can't say when other people will reach a tipping point but at some point reality will set in that the state and cities are in a world of sh*t as far as their financial obligations go.  As someone who is looking to sell my town house and buy a single family home in HB articles like this make me think twice because the city has changed a lot in the last 5-10 years and not for the better while this will only make it worse.  It seems like high density housing is being proposed any time there's open space which continues to change the dynamic of what was once a laid back beach city.  To me those days have been gone for a while but you see more and more elements and situations popping up that are keeping citizens from going to places they used to frequent.  It's not just in HB either as crime is up all across OC which doesn't bode well when cities are facing funding issues and have issues paying current workers.

The Bears traded the #3 pick, a 3rd rounder this year, a 4th rounder this year and a 3rd round pick next year to move up one spot to draft a QB who started 13 games in college.  Kudos to the 49'ers for getting all those picks and still getting the guy at 3 they wanted at 2.  I understand why KC took a QB to mold behind Smith but I was surprised they wanted Mahomes enough to move up in the first round to get him.  Denver addressed their biggest need at 20 getting a guy who can step in and play LT and I was glad they went that route when there were reports they wanted to move up possibly for McCaffrey.  There was talk about them taking a RB or even the TE out of Alabama (picked at 19) to take pressure off their young QB whether it's Lynch or Siemian but none of that matters if you can't keep your QB upright or run block which is the biggest way to take pressure off your QB.

The voters of CA tried this with prop 187 in 1994 and it was declared unconstitutional.  That said a quick search says it was found unconstitutional because they argued that it was the feds responsibility to regulate immigration and not the states so if Trump tried it then things would get real interesting.   

I think it's the least CA can do for all the idiocy it sends east. 
Regardless of who I side with on this I just find it really fascinating because while it's obviously not the same level the issue of states rights and telling the feds they weren't going to follow their laws was at the crux of the Civil War.

Utilized by wealthier Americans...and everyone who itemizes.  There's not a lot of details while the 3 tax brackets being thrown around don't include income ranges from what I've seen but I could see a way I could end up paying more in federal income taxes than I do now.  Still a long way off and nothing has been passed yet but I'll definitely be interested in seeing the final details.
