  1. McCarthy was funny in Bridesmaids but unfortunately that led to The Heat, Tammy and Identity Thief. My GF was a fan and wanted to see Identity Thief which we did but both of us left disappointed and being over her schtick of being the foul mouthed big girl. We did see Spy some months back which is a movie coming out in May because it was a free screener and I have to admit it was pretty damn funny. No idea what they're going to cut but McCarthy wasn't too over the top and Statham's character and another bit player were great. As for Ghostbusters 3 I have no interest in seeing it. The only way I might have considered it is if they made it when Ramis was still alive and they got the old cast back.
  2. Sorry to hear you're going through this because when the time comes you have to say goodbye to a member of the family. As others said think about the dog because she obviously can't walk up to you and say she's ready but she can definitely show you some signs.
  3. Whether it goes up or down you don't seem to like it. Like wicked said I'll just continue to buy consistently without worrying about timing. If the shit ever really hits the fan in my lifetime I'm not going to be concerned about my retirement accounts.
  4. Isn't that one thing that makes this country great though? We can sit here and argue and piss and moan in one thread then hop on over to another thread and talk about what heart attack inducing burger we're picking up for dinner on the way home. 'merica!
  5. It's caused by both sides because in the end neither is really protecting the middle class. There's no denying what the top 1, 5 or 10% pay but whether it's an R or D that pushes something through aimed at getting more out of the top group or taking something away from the lowest group it backfires or falls short and the financial burden falls on the middle class. I think we can all agree the system is long past broken and at the center of it all is a major spending problem. For 3+ decades now deficit spending has been a way of life and it's not sustainable. As long as most voters "side up" and blame the other guys we'll just continue on an unsustainable path which will ultimately screw us all.
  6. As far as the refs knowing at half time I assume (but you know what they say when you assume) they then swapped out for balls that were properly inflated or properly inflated the balls they had. The Patriots outscored the Colts 28-0 in the second half. I dislike the Patriots as much as most non-NE fans but to me this is pretty much a non-story. The refs checked and verified the balls before the game and after inflating the balls in a warmer indoor area they ended up outside in 40 degree rainy weather which can deflate the balls to some degree. Again if the Patriots did something I'm not defending it but a lot of the QB's you've heard something out of says teams or players doing something to the ball isn't anything new. In this case it sure wasn't the reason Indy got destroyed.
  7. Or they could just simplify the tax code and close all the loop holes.
  8. In a way I agree. We've got enough people with degrees that they don't use or that are pretty much worthless. As was talked about in another thread it would be better to have trade schools or some such similar path set up for kids starting at about grade 10. Not everyone is meant to go to college and definitely not if it's on the taxpayer dime.
  9. Since the speech it's naturally turned into R vs. D while we continue to rack up debt and watch both sides blame the other. Mission accomplished with that speech because neither side was going to give in to the threats or concessions. It's all posturing trying to buy votes because come next election the democrats will blame the greedy republicans while the republicans will blame the socialist demoncrats.
  10. Exactly my thoughts. If they do this with 529's I'm sure Roth IRAs and other type of investments that have tax benefits aren't far behind.
  11. They all buy votes at the expense of the other party. The scary thing is some of the things recently being discussed taxpayers would be on the hook for.
  12. I saw a snippet of his speech before he went on and part of it mentioned how things need to be fair. It was in the context of people who make more paying more but there was a bit in there about needing to be fair to people at the bottom. All I could think of is the growing number of people who don't pull their weight. I fully expect those people to continue getting handouts, the top 1% or whatever keep doing their thing while the middle class gets the shaft.
  13. When I first saw the play I thought he was smart for going down but the camera angle was from the side and didn't show how much room he had between him and the first would be tackler. He possibly had enough room to put his team in field goal range or damn close to it. Still can't get over how many things had to break in Seattle's favor at the end for them to pull it off.
  14. What an epic meltdown. The number of things that had to happen for Seattle to win that game almost seemed impossible yet GB found a way to let it happen.
  15. Some people and organizations actually get stray cats fixed so they don't keep popping out kittens. A collar or getting your cat chipped is how someone knows a cat isn't a stray. Your cat going over there for weeks then leaving for weeks doesn't necessarily say he's not a stray so much as he's two timing you.
  16. I want to see GB and Indy win but I expect Seattle and NE to win. The Colts deserve to be in the AFC title game but so far they played Cincy who didn't have their best receiver and Denver who had an ineffective Peyton Manning. NE's offense is a whole different beast with Brady, Edelman, Gronk, LaFell, Blount (bruiser) and Vereen (pass catching/3rd down back(. They trounced Indy in NE earlier this season and I wouldn't be surprised to see a 10+ point loss by Indy before it's done.
  17. Yeah I just saw that reported at yahoo but the link to the story is dead and currently I don't see it at ESPN or sportsline.
  18. Terrance Knighton who is the guy in the bridgestone commercial with the SUV driving on the treadmill. As far as CJ Anderson goes he's signed for 2015 and a restricted FA in 2016. He was huge for them down the stretch but they have other guys who are FA's this year that they need to focus on and they can wait on him. The Broncos currently have over 20M of cap space in 2015 after signing Harris to his extension. They have some wiggle room but I'm sure there will be some cap casualties.
  19. The staff is under contract but they were told they can look elsewhere and their status with Denver would be decided by the new coach. At the press conference Elway said Denver wants Manning back assuming he wants to play next year and they want his input on the new coach. Could be posturing but either way I'd take one more year of Manning given the other pieces they have and hope for a miracle next year.
  20. I'm pretty sure if Manning wanted to come back assuming he's healthy they'd take him back and he'd be starting in 2015. Word is that Elway and Fox weren't getting along for a while (same situation as San Fran just not public) so parting ways with Fox and telling the rest of the staff they're free to look elsewhere seems to be more of a statement about the Elway/Fox relationship than wanting to move on from Manning. As far as using a 2nd round pick on Osweiler call me a skeptic but I don't think that means they view him as Aaron Rodgers ready to displace Favre who GB was ready to move on from. Quite a few teams draft QB's in rounds 2-4 for for depth as NE has drafted 2 QB's in the last 4 years from rounds 2 and 3 which isn't a testament to their skill or ability to replace Brady.
  21. Any time you go from an elite QB to an unproven commodity like Osweiler while letting your entire coaching staff go you're doing some type of rebuilding. It may not be a 5-10 year plan where you pray for a top QB in the draft but it's generally a few years until you hope to be better than a fringe playoff team. They still have a skilled roster but the top teams generally have top 10-15 QB's which isn't something they will have if Manning is gone. Maybe retooling is a better word.
  22. When they signed Manning I thought the window was 2-3 years. They got about 2.75 years before he got injured and while I wish they won it all it was a fun 3 years. Rebuilding sucks but at the same time it's a necessary evil and it's just something new to look forward to.
  23. Manning doesn't need the money and that aside even if he does play next year I don't see him in Buffalo. They play outside, are in the AFC East, don't have that good of an offense and just hired a defensive minded coach who likes to run the ball.
  24. I'd imagine so with the entire coaching staff being let go. I could see them parting ways with guys who don't fit into their plans beyond a few years like Ware but I say that not knowing the exact details of his contract (think 3/30 with 20M guaranteed but not sure how guaranteed breaks down).
