They are doing a tough enough job creating a bubble to protect the players and staff. Spectators won't be tested. I have a hunch that many more players will opt out of the season if they allow even a small number of spectators in. At least for now.

The good news is the Board of Education has no power to make such decisions. The whole thing was a dog and pony show for the anti maskers. Even the public speakers were plants for the most part. One even said that teachers who didn’t want to return to the classroom because of Covid had sold their souls to the devil. Complete bullshit.

i suspect the people who decline to come back to work don’t do so for a lot of reasons.  Some of them less reasonable than others.  If people don’t come back because the 600 dollars makes that big of difference to them even in the short term.   Then I think that it’s probably reasonable to assume it’s terribly paying menial job.  Probably not full time. Etc.  I can’t tell you how indifferent I am to someone who’s mad that they have 15 or 20 hour a week minimum wage worker not coming back.  Is that a blanket truth ?  Of course not.  Like I said, people who aren’t going back to work probably don’t for a lot of reasons.  The post was someone butt hurt that someone is getting $600 they think they don’t deserve.  Fucking cry more.  I am unable to fathom the insane pettiness of someone who’s mad at an out of work probably poor person coming up a little bit for a temporary period of time.  Be happy you’re still working.  Christ knows I am.  Imagine being jealous of an out of work former Marshall’s employee.

That is postulated in the article, but there were a few months between positive tests, with negative tests in the middle. His first case was mild and his second case had him in the hospital multiple times. 
Either way I'm not sure which is more scary. If you remain ill for multiple months, and have multiple periods of being infectious who is to say that it won't continue to come back?
My guess is... or maybe it's just my hope... that his multiple infections relate to the level of viral load he received. His first case was mild, and perhaps the body fought it off easily without producing all that many antibodies. The second bout may have been from a larger dose that his body wasn't ready for, but after fighting it off he will have enough antibodies to defend him for some time.

NY does not have herd immunity and is not approaching herd immunity.  You guys keep saying this but you don’t really want to know what the road to rapid herd immunity looks like.
 
just wear the masks and be smart about gatherings and going out.  Beating the virus can be achieved without a million people dying.  
 
also, NY handled it far worse than California.  They paid the price.  We’re still trying to stave off that terrible scenario.  Newsom should not have let the openings happen as rapidly as they did.  I am not advocating for the March style shut downs again.  But we need to be reasonable about what’s going on here.  Enforce the mask requirements.  Don’t allow large gatherings.  And of course there’s only so much that the government can do.  People do need to be responsible for themselves and their neighbors and make the right choices.  Sorry it’s inconvenient and little uncomfortable.
