Butcher'd reacted to Hollyw00d in **** this
from 2004 to now, scioscia has had about 3 completely different rosters to work with. Barring a few long term players like Kendrick, Guerrero, lackey, and aybar.
each one of those teams has sucked dick in the postseason. So there's nearly 75 different professionals that had no clue how to prepare? No, its deeper than that.

Butcher'd reacted to 70runner in Scioscia playing Hamilton is inexcusable
Once again you ride to Scioscia's rescue. I believe you are the self appointed authority who once said the manager is responsible for plus/minus 3 games a season.
Blaming the offensive implosion on Scioscia may seem like a stretch with this 2 game sample as you imply with the cute sign response. However, if one considers the strategy (by Scioscia) which preceded the playoffs, perhaps a picture emerges of a team in cruise control which has been unable to abruptly restore offensive productivity (turn the switch back on). I would argue the overall pre-playoff cruise strategy may be a bigger factor in the offensive implosion against KC than you are able to recognize through your Scioscia colored bifocals.
More directly, the decision to place Hamilton into 2 lineups against LHP after a couple weeks of inactivity was Scioscia. The serious brain fart to bunt Calhoun was Scioscia. The TWO decisions to sacrifice Aybar to put a RISP for Hamilton against LHP is also Scioscia. The decision today not to sacrifice Iannetta (or pinch hitter) in 8th, runner on 2nd, no outs, and Calhoun/Trout to follow, was Scioscia (his best defensive catcher argument borders on comical). He deserves a generous portion of the blame for the Angels performance.

Butcher'd reacted to FabulousFabregas in Scioscia playing Hamilton is inexcusable
It may have cost us this game, and series. Absolutely ridiculous, not only has he played like dog shit all season but he hadn't even played in a month. You all know how I feel about Scioscia, but I wasn't ready to blame him for Game 1. But Scioscia definitely deserves a fair share of the blame for tonight.

Butcher'd got a reaction from HeavenlyHalos in Scioscia's managing tonight
I swear he managed differently tonight than he has all season long. Kole never bunted in any situation during the regular season. This team won almost 100 games, and this fool wants to change shit NOW? Insanity. Also, Cowgill in for Hamilton tomorrow. It has to happen. Enough catering to the overpaid players. You can't put guys in the lineup that have been awful all year (CJ for game 3 and Hamilton)

You mean like play a tie game most of the game? You all act like it was a blowout.

He wants to be the hero when the team is struggling. He seems to think micromanaging cures all ills.

this is a good summary. I'm ready to forget this game.

Butcher'd reacted to Reveille1984 in Scioscia's managing tonight
Like pretty much every other person has reiterated, it was a collective flaming turd of a game. Hitters with zero approach, Scioscia overmanaging and going away from what's made us successful all year, 0-8 with RISP, zero contribution from the middle of the order, Josh looking like absolute shit, etc. Our ineptitude plus a bit of luck on their side defensively swayed a game that we should have won into the Royals favor.
One of the most irritating games I've watched, compounded even more due the importance of winning game one in a divisional series.

Whether he cares or not, he's ****ing terrible. And watching three or more years of his pathetic impersonation of a major league baseball player is nearly enough for me to want to join one of those Brazilian tribes with no contact with the outside world.

Who cares if he cares or doesn't care? That's a cop out from the actual problem.
The actual problem is that he sucks and Scioscia doesn't have the sack to sit him down.
Another problem is that he sucks and is making a fat check for the next 3 years.
I'm tired of reading about this guy cares or this guy doesn't care and blah blah blah blah blah. It's about performance. It's about results. Cowgill is a better all around ballplayer than Hamilton and he's not getting on the field. Simple.

Einstein would be proud of this logic.
Crowd sucked on TV. Not every crowd has been into it for every game since 2002 so I take your opinion what happened in game one as an apologist who cannot judge a playoff crowd's enthusiasm.

I'd feel better if his name wasn't anywhere near the lineup. I don't want to see this guy at all
