During the 1993 World Series, the camera showed Jimmy near the clubhouse door.  His left arm, away from the camera, was hanging slack.  My dad looked at me and said "He's smoking".  I argued but Dad insisted and if you look closely, you can see a wisp of smoke rise past Jimmy's arm.  Turns out my Dad had inside information. When Fregosi was playing for the Angels, he would go to mass at St. Anthony Claret on La Palma.  My Dad was an usher and Jimmy would sit in the back row or two. During the homily when the priest was reflecting on the readings, Jimmy would slip out for a smoke.  Dad said that Fregosi was a great guy.  May he rest in peace.

It happened today:  January 6, 2014.  I am really, really ready for Angels baseball...ANY baseball.  Didn't anticipate the feeling so early.

I am good with Tanaka. Not sold on Garza. If Tanaka isn't posted sign Maholm/Capuano and Niemann. Niemann will not be ready until the ASG so a rehab /incentive contact is in order. I like the insurance of another arm being added to the mix before the trade deadline. Worst case he can slide into the swingman or long relief role as a way to finish his rehab

My preference is to plan on Garret being a #4 and acquire a 3 and 5.  If he blossoms into a 3 then all the better.

Seriously, this kid plays with passion, fire and swagger. I've always praised his ability and thought he could be a really good regular in the big leagues, though some shot me down noting his terrible walk rate and OBP. But this kid could ALWAYS hit with RISP. His situational hitting was an organizational BEST throughout the minors. 
 
Anyhow, I'm stoked and drunk, on Lucho Jimenez. 

Fly ball pitcher in a band box ballpark. It is a bad mix. JeDi was thinking more about the 81 games in Angel Stadium than the one game in Great America.

Craig is the name of the poster that years ago posted a thread that someone else already started. Then, someone started calling it a "Craig". I think Craig (the poster) still posts once in awhile.
