OMFG i love it !!!!    In the past i have bitched alot about the team not showing heart or seeming to care.. this weekend perhaps more than any other even though they dropped one i saw heart, caring, and king kong brass balls.

smith has already said he is ok with the move to the 8th, though i epxectthey will give him some chances to close as well as much as possible, he has earned that

im sorry but all those who say we are still a WC team, are idiots.
There is ample time left in the season, we are 1 1/2 out, second best record in the league, and there is a giant possibility that we can overtake the As.  Giving up and assuming we have not bettered our status is just silly
If we had any bullpen at all in the first 2 months of the season we are in first, not second, regardless of how lucky the As have been.
its just ludicrous to assume we are not in the mix for the division title and more

ive been sitting back taking this one in trying to determine if i like it or not.
on the plus it obviously helps the club now and gives us a rock solid back end of the pen with him and Smith who i think should still get some shots, hes earned that.
on the down we gave up a lot, for a guy that we have for what, the rest of this year and a club option for next and further hurt a farm that was already not in great shape.
If this converts into playoffs runs or titles of the next 2 years.. ok, i guess its worth it, and that's clearly the plan.. but if it doesn't, this hurts us a lot more in the long run.

and yet thats what these men on death row did, they decided to kill another... so, yeah, cry me a friggin river

well, you are entitled to your opinion, and thats fine, but i could not disagree more.  It isnt retaliation, its justice.  There is a huge difference.  A person must be expected to pay for their crimes or there is no deterrent to crime.  You can feel for this man and others like him if you want but i prefer to think about those whose rights he obliterated, rather than his.  As far as im concerned he forfeited his when to took them away from others.

it isnt pitch counts in the majors.. its total pitch counts on the arms.
As someone else said and as i know for a fact having coached little league for years, these issue start long before draft day or they ever put on a ML uniform.
-throwing breaking balls to soon, ive seen kids doing it by 12.
-being overused too young, coaches need to win, they use these kids as often as the rules permit
-winterball... travelball, year round ball... they never get to rest and recouperate.
-multi sport atheltes, a lot of pitchers are asl oquarterbacks.. or play other sports... again, no rest, more wear and tear.
 
i dont think the issues we are seeing in the league today are due to overuse.. noone is throwing an excessive amount every game and they are doing so every 5 days for the most part... its just the final steps on a course that was started 10 years earlier taking its toll.
