If Mike can lengthen the WAR, runs, OBP and OPS gaps, maybe that mitigates the crappy Angels' year in the voters' minds. Maybe.

Can anyone ever remember a position player pitching in a tied or competitive MLB game? It's rare enough in blowouts. I'd guess that it's probably occurred but I can't recall this ever happening.

There were over 64,000 people in the Big A that day that watched Ruppert Jones score the tying run on a close play at the plate. I happened to be one of them. Unfortunately, so was Wilfong. I still remembering looking at first base and saying to my brother "What the f*** is Wilfong doing on first base!"

Yep, Brunansky for Corbett and Wilfong was not good ultimately.   At least Wilfong and Corbett contributed in 1986, although Wilfong's failure to take 2B on the throw home to try to get Jones in the 9th inning was costly, as Schofield's single to RF might have won the ALCS then.

Angels and Rockies, that's it. Of course, it helps to not have 115+ years under your belt as a franchise. But 55 is pretty good without hitting the century mark.

Really, Bedrosian is not a major league pitcher. 95 MPH, yes, but dude has no movement on his fastball and zero command. Salas looks like Mariano Rivera compared to him.
