LAA Road Tripper got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Gameday Thread: 9/11 Rangers @ Angels 12:35
63rd win. That means the Angels remain the only AL team never to lose 100 games in a season. That and a Trout MVP are all I had left on the table in this season for a while now. If Mike can lengthen the WAR, runs, OBP and OPS gaps, maybe that mitigates the crappy Angels' year in the voters' minds. Maybe.

Or the reason you lost money in Vegas.

Pretty good run. The Angels went, what 8, 10 days without a pitcher having a UCL tear. That's a good week.

Let's see if the bullpen can hold the lead. (I kid. Or do I?)

Can anyone ever remember a position player pitching in a tied or competitive MLB game? It's rare enough in blowouts. I'd guess that it's probably occurred but I can't recall this ever happening.

LAA Road Tripper got a reaction from Angel Oracle in Gameday Thread: 6/25 - Angels vs. Athletics - No Escobar Again
Getting a little tired of Pujols' head shaking after obvious called strikes. Just because you used to be Albert Pujols doesn't make a pitch thrown in the zone a ball.

Well, at least the only AL team. Colorado is the other.

There were over 64,000 people in the Big A that day that watched Ruppert Jones score the tying run on a close play at the plate. I happened to be one of them. Unfortunately, so was Wilfong. I still remembering looking at first base and saying to my brother "What the f*** is Wilfong doing on first base!"

Yep, Brunansky for Corbett and Wilfong was not good ultimately. At least Wilfong and Corbett contributed in 1986, although Wilfong's failure to take 2B on the throw home to try to get Jones in the 9th inning was costly, as Schofield's single to RF might have won the ALCS then.

Angels and Rockies, that's it. Of course, it helps to not have 115+ years under your belt as a franchise. But 55 is pretty good without hitting the century mark.

Great find. Oh, Valdez just went on the DL.
Just kidding.
Or am I?

You guys probably don't remember this but there was someone with the same name on the Angels last season. He wasn't very good at baseball. Where's this Matt Joyce from? Is this the one who used to play for the Rays?

Really, Bedrosian is not a major league pitcher. 95 MPH, yes, but dude has no movement on his fastball and zero command. Salas looks like Mariano Rivera compared to him.

Trout with an amputated leg would still be the best player on the team. The gap might be a little smaller between him and the next guy, though.
