Don reacted to mmc in [Fangraphs] "Angels scripted reach-out call"
How many times now have we seen this? Team starts out like crap, goes on a decent run that makes you think they can turn the season around, collapse again near the deadline and sell, have another good run in September that makes you think the team will actually be good the following season with some improvements, we don't do much and everyone complains about it at first, by the start of the season people find ways to be optimistic about our acquisitions and predict the team to have a serious shot at the postseason, rinse and repeat. I'll believe it when I see it in regards to this group having a postseason run in them.

Don reacted to Taylor in What have you watched recently? (Please use the hide function for spoilers or plot lines)
Lou, I have a really great show recommendation for you.
It's an older HBO show called The Wire.

Don reacted to tdawg87 in Canning
Canning is, as of right now, a perfectly solid #4 starter with 4 years of control left.
He hasn't taken the step forward I hoped he would, but there's still time.
He's not going to get much in return, unless there's a team out there who sees something in him the Angels don't.
He's worth more to the Angels. For now.

That’s a real struggle, especially if things go well. A good cup of black coffee about an hour before the pre-date shower is usually the safest way to go.

Honestly the online dating thing isn’t all that hard. Just be a decent dude, try to be interesting, and accept that most people you talk to won’t work out. I’m a short dude too, but I don’t make any effort to hide it, and I just generally aim for the shorter women. It is what it is. Above all though, just be clear with your intentions, and try to make the early conversations fun. Open ended questions that are super random tend to be great conversation starters.

Had to go to a bar in Midtown KC to watch the game. The locals are not pleased.

Yeah, he definitely pitched a lot better than the run total would lead you to believe. When his fastball command is on and his splitter has good bite he’s really good.

Don got a reaction from Tank in Random Links Thread
There are tons of rarer rounds out there that will take down a grizzly. Some are newer than others. But there are quite a few widely used rounds that are perfectly capable of stopping one too. My guess is that most of the cases of people having underpowered weapons in that scenario are either due to them not planning for the fact/possibility that they could encounter a grizzly, or that they were hunting some sort of smaller game and were thus using a lighter round of some kind. There’s also the operator error factor.
